Default Ouidad products

Have any of you seriously experimented with Ouidad products? What did you think?

Hi,
I'm currently using Quidad shampoo and conditioner. I bought a ton of their stuff based on the survey that's on their site that helps you determine which products will be best for your hair type... gels, mousses, pomade, leave-in conditioner... you name it I bought it. I don't really think it's any more special than the high end salon products I've tried. I do really like their shampoo and conditioner though.
I'm having very serious hair issues right now (was straight/wavy fell out during medical treatments and grew back in VERY curly!) so I'm trying a lot of different things. And so far Quidad's shampoo and conditioner is working the best. I'm sure their styling products would work well too it's just getting the right combination or right product for my hair, which I don't think I've found yet... or maybe just a GOOD haircut would do wonders!
Quidad does have a pretty good return policy... I think it's something like 30 days. And everything I've ordered has shown up in great condtion, well packaged and very timely.
Hope this helps.

I used them a lot back in 2000-01.. I still truly love Climate Control Gel, the DT, Tress F/x and Curl Quencher conditioner...

I can't use Botanical Boost, though, because it has too many proteins and the Shine product was just ok.

It's sort of pricey but a very solid line. I do recommend all of the products that I mention loving

Before I found this site, that's all I used.
I used the whole line for my hair. I agree with Curltopia, it's pricey but it's a very good line. Now that I do CG, I've given up the shampoo. I still use the Gel Climate & Control every so often and I still have the DT that I use every 2 months or so. I haven't reordered but I really enjoyed their Curl Quencher Conditoner, Rinse & Tress F/X Gel.

I just started using the products and like them. The climate control is great...but you have to coat the hair in sections so all hair gets coated. It takes about 4 - 5 sections to completly coat. Then when it is COMPLETELY dry you can put the shine glaze on and it really softens the look of the curls without the FRIZZ. It takes time for the hair to dry so a diffusior does help. I went to the ouidad salon for my first "slicing and carving" and they explain how to use the products. That helped a lot.

I really love the Curl Quencher Gel. I use a leave in underneath it. My curls are a bit weighed down, but I like the look for summer. It is a great humidity buster. I like it better than the climate control in the summer.

Best thing IMO is the Deep Treatment. I can't buy this product line in any of my local salons anymore.

I bought CQ poo/condish, CC, BB, Pomade and DT just before I got into this site. I am just now finishing the 1 litre poo/dish. I hated the pomade. I never use anything with mineral oil on my hair or skin. Took that back to my salon. I really liked the CC and have sense bought the 1 litre size. I interchange CC with CK depending on the weather and my mood. BB was okay. I rather use my own mist concoction (water, elucence, glycerin). I still have the DT and really like it, but I get lazy about DT's. I will continue to experiment with DT's like Massey's Deep Pack Chakra! Overall, it's a better line than the other "curl" specific salon products (Bumble & Bumble and Matrix comes to mind). But I have found better and cheaper alternatives and it will save me an extra trip to my salon which is 50 min. away from home. JMHO.

I have recently fallen in love with the Climate Control gel. Sl is right though, you really need to apply it in sections to coat all of your hair. I can't believe it, but I actually just invested in the 34oz bottle. Talk about a long term commitment. It's pricey stuff, but well worth it for me. I live in Fl and with the CC I can even withstand our nasty humidity. Last weekend I was in Ybor city, went dancing, walking the strip, etc and my hair looked great even at the end of the night.

Aya-

I haven't seen you around these parts in AGES! WOW. Good to have you back. How is everything? Sounds like your hair is doing great. I too love Ouidad CC in humid weather.. It's a godsend.

I used to use all Ouidad and nothing else. The CQ 'poo is okay. It's not as drying as some other shampoos but it's nothing special. The CQ conditioner is pretty good but not really enough moisture for me over time. The DT is lovely but I don't think it's worth the money. It's not that lovely. I tried the Climate Control Gel and it did nothing for me. I bought Balancing Rinse for my dh and of course had to try it out...and it was nothing special -- just a very lightweight, thin conditioner that I paid way too much for.

I love Tress F/X. It gives me chunky curls with very little frizz and lots of shine without building up. Clear & Gentle 'poo and Water Works are both fairly gentle as shampoos go and I would buy them again.
