Hairevelations: Who would of thought

First Hairevelation: Vitamin E oil

I accidentally left my hair products behind (went to visit relatives who lived near our vacation spot) and had to use what my cousin's wife had.

Well, my cousin's wife is Pakistani and she does not use hair products on her curls but she did have some vitamin E oil for her skin so I used that.

Well, I was a little skeptical (most of you know my relationship with oils) but that stuff worked. My hair was so soft and shiny and not a frizz to be found. Best part about it was the quick drying time. It has been a week since I have used this and so far so good.

I do not think vitamin E is a real oil (read it somewhere but if that is wrong someone correct me) so maybe that had something to do with it. It was in a carrier oil (safflower or sunflower oil).

So, does anyone else use vitamin E oil?

Do you think it is good for the hair or is it one of those "drying" over time oils?

Ideas?

Second Hairevelation: Scrunching

Who would have thought that you could scrunch 3c hair. I am not sure why/how it worked because my previous experience with scrunching gave me frizz. Well not this time! I put a little oil and water mixture into my hand when I scrunched so I wonder it that had something to do with it.

My hair is getting more corkscrew-y when I scrunch it. I like that.

Third Hairevelation: My hair is unique

I made my SO look at 3c curly hair pictures so I could find my hair "twin."

Well, he said, "hair is unique. No one's hair is *exactly* the same." Then he went on to say that my hair was beautiful and unclassifiable. He is a sweetheart.

He sort of confirmed what I already knew. I am satisfied with having hair "cousins."

I hope my next hairevelation is brushing. I am going to keep an eye out for the PM brush.

Just wanted to share.

And if any of you had a "hairevelation," feel free to post them here.

Wow, maybe I need to go on vacation so that I can have a few
hairevelation!

Vitamin E, huh? Question, when you scrunched your hair with oil, was it vitamin E, if not what did you use?
Speaking of hair twins, Curltopia started a thread about hair types and twins. Maybe you'll find your twin soon, I know some have found theirs. However, I agree with your SO everyone is unique and he does sound like sweetheart.

I made him look at Curltopia's thread this afternoon. Still no twin. He said that my hair looks sort of like Portae's but not exactly like her hair.

I am going to NY and Boston next. I wonder what "hairevelations" I will find there?

Funny that you mentioned the vitamin E oil. I have some by FOTE that I use on my skin from time to time and considered using it on my hair ver recently...like last week . I know you can also buy the capsules, and bust them open for the oil. I know that vitamin E is very healing and is sometimes used as a natural preservative. Thanks for posting your "revelation" with it. I may have to try it out when my hair gets longer!
I use a mix of oils, with safflower oil being one of them, it is rich in VIT E!!
The nutritional info states 30%!!

My hair revelation is that if you part your hair on the side it doesn't have to be perfectly symetrical and thus you can have more 2nd day hair. I'm starting to realize I like my hair better 2nd day, and thats a revelation of sorts too. Now, if it would just grow and get some weight so it doesn't stick straight up on the 3rd day...

Hairevelation 1) using heat makes a huge difference in the impact of a DT.

Hairevelation 2) it only takes a small amount of hair growth for my hair to look really different. So if it's not looking so hot, length-wise, in a month it really will look very different, even though it's not actually that much longer.
i heard somewhere (i think it was either the shopping bags or girls tv) that when ppl advertize shampoo or conditioner, they usually say it has all this good stuff in it like botanicles or wutever. she said that the only thing (the companies advertize) that can actually help the condition of your hair is vitamin E but it doesn't help a lot cuz ther isnt enough in any of the shampoos.
with vitamin E oil, its way more concentrated. its probably the closest form to pure vitamin E the your hair can absorb. the effects would understandably be way more drastic.

Hair Revelation 1# Brushing is a good thing, who would have thunk it! lol

Hair Revelation 2# My hair hates cones. The Pantene Hydrating Curls conditioner did anything but hydrate my hair. Since I have been using the Elucence MBC, my husband has even commented that my hair looks healthier.

Hair Revelation 3# I thought curlies just got out of the shower and their hair was perfect. I had no idea that styling and effort went into it, too. I have no idea where I got this idea from.

Hair Revelation 4# I probably won't find a hair twin. I'm grateful for all of my hair cousins, though!
