Hey everyone!
I'm so excited to find this website!! Ok, from the descriptions I think I'm a 3A.

My hair is really thick, soft and shiny. The curls are loose and spiral around one another on the top layer, but the bottom layers kinda fizzle out - in fact the layer of hair closest to my neck is almost completely straight. I mean I divide my hair up for even distrib. for all the products so it's not like I'm missing areas... (Does this mean I'm really in the 2's? Or maybe I am a double type??)

I know products are kinda a hit-or-miss, but I wanted to see if anyone with similar types could give light to somethign that was good. I'm kinda on a budget crunch but I'm open. Just wanna see what y'all know is out there.

Generally my problems revolve around wanting more curl definition and frizz control, but I really hate when my hair gets stiff.

Any advice is appreciated!

Yes, many of us are more than one haor type. My hair seems to be alot like your the 3a on top and nearly straight on bottom with all the same stuff. Get pictures we would llove to see you hair! Again welcome to the world of curlieness!

Hi there!

It's normal to have different hair types on the same head. I have some 3a and 3b curls. I have some hair underneath, near my neck also, that isn't as curly. I have lots of hair so you can't really see that layer unless it gets pulled forward, so I just don't worry about it.

Some of my favorite stuff is cheap! (Actually, probably all of it, I'm a cheapo ) I love Suave and VO5 conditioners, Creme of Nature shampoo (found in walmart and drugstores in the ethnic hair section), Suave Sculpting Gel, and honey. Yes, honey! It's great when I add it into my conditoner.

My hair is nearly straight underneath in the back, too. I use Jessicurl Gelebration spray there to increase the amount of curl.
