Moisturizer
Hey everyone..
I need to find a moisturizer to put on my curls on the days that I am not going to wash it. What I normally do is wash twice a week since I sweat when I work out and then I put various products in it but I know I need a better moisturizer for my curls. Lately I've been using BreakThru to help with my split ends and I use olive oil on my scalp .... I also re wet my hair everyday because if I don't do that then the curls will look very dry...
Any suggests or comments?

I think (but this is MY humble opinion )you should at least rinse your hair with water every second day. Water is the BEST moisturizer.
I don't think that you have to oil your scalp because the scalp already produces natural oil, called *sebum*. I think you should put oil to your ends, since the sebum has problems reaching all the way down your curls.

Maybe when you rewett the hair, you can add a leave in(maybe Elucence since many of the curlies here highly recommend this). I don't personally rewett my hair at all(don't feel it is necessary....only when I wash which is twice a week), and have found that using a leave in that is very moisturizing helps in replenishing moisture.
As LSN recommended, maybe you can do a rinse(maybe a conditioner rinse/wash) and then use a leave in either alone, or with another styling product.

I agree with the water everyday, even if just misting from a spray bottle. Ditto with a leave in treatment.
You can also try the glycerin & water spritz combo. Honey is also a great humectant.
What is your hair routine like right now? Maybe doing a modified CG routine would be good for your hair?

I only wet my hair once a week, and if I need moisture in between, I use olive or coconut oil or a moisturizer (Kiehl's Cream with Silk Groom, Pink, ORS carrot oil, Curls Essential Element.) ORS has some awesome gentle oils too. I do oil my scalp. Everyone keeps saying on here that you don't have to, but I have a very dry scalp and it only feels good when it is oiled - I went 3 weeks without and every day was torture. I hate water every day because it messes up my hairstyles and takes so long to dry. But I leave in a ton of oil and conditioner when I do wet and that lasts a few days.

Re: Moisturizer
i'm an everyday rinser. my routine is usually to wash once a week or so and on the days i don't wash, i just rinse then apply a leave-in. i use paul mitchell's the conditioner (or the suave knockoff) or nexxus humectress (or the suave knockoff.) also agree with amneris - pink oil is a good moisturizer.
i read about a honey rinse on another site - something like one tsp. honey to a cup of water?? i tried this a couple of times, and it worked very well.

I always rewet my hair everyday to make it look better before I style it.
I don't know what CG is or PJ for that matter lol so somebody let me know but my routine is this:
I wash my hair twice a week. I use Neutrogena Shampoo and I have so many conditionors but I find that Infusium 23 or Pantene for curly hair works best. After that I spray curl gel by Garnier fructis on my hair while I'm still in the shower and once I get out, I spray smooth and shine mousse on it. I then put it in a ponytail but I've worn it down for the past afew days.

CG is the curly girl routine developed by Lorraine Massey of Devachan salon - she wrote a book called Curly Girl that CurlMart sells. It is basically - never shampoo your hair ever (conditioner rinse only), no silicones in products, leave in conditioner, no brushing or straightening, etc. I pretty much don't do any of it and think it is silly but a lot of people on the board swear by it and say it really improved their hair.
A PJ is a product junkie - it's a term specific to this board and refers to people like me with way too many hair products accumulated.
As to your products, I bet you have dry hair because of Infusium, Pantene and Garnier Fructis. Those all fried my hair - especially Infusium. Not nearly enough moisture for a 3c. With a good conditioner like Elucence or Curls Hair Tea conditioner, you don't need to wet every day because it stays moisturized.

I recommend MOP Leave-In Conditioner. At Target, Whole Foods, and a lot of Beauty Supplies. I rinse my hair with conditioner most mornings.
