Emergency!!! Need response quick

As usual, I am doing things at the last minute. I am getting my hair colored today and I have a dilema. On Monday I deep treated my hair following a treatment from CG book. Then did the lemonAde rinse with conditioner and lemon...BIG Mistake. My hair is SOOO dry now. I don't know what to do. I conditioned it again Tuesday AND Wed. but still straw-like... I can not cancel with my hair dresser because she is soooo booked. Can I do something just before I go? Also am I even supposed to wash just before coloring? (this is my first time?) THanks for any help or advice... :-)

I don't know what to tell you. I've heard that you should not shampoo your hair 24-48 hours before coloring.

The reason is that you need your scalp to have some natural oils present, which helps the color adhere better. Additionally, with an unwashed scalp, the color will penetrate deeper into the hair follicles, making it last longer. In addition to an unwashed scalp helping the color stay, it will also act as a protective barrier so that your head does not become irritated from the chemicals in hair color.
I'm guessing this may also apply to using conditioner before coloring as well(though I'm not sure). When you get to the salon, you need to tell her what you did, and I'm guessing that she'll evaluate the condition of your hair and will act accordingly. But I honestly wouldn't let her put color on my hair after doing the lemonaide rinse.

Good luck, and sorry that I couldn't offer more help.
A wonderful mix of coils, curls, corkscrews, and kinks.

Then I usually do a co-wash, just to get the extra out.

But I don't know anything about color, or if the oils would ruin it.
