I've seen lots of people here with chin-length hair slick it back into a headband so that it's a cute curly puff. I'm not too sure what products to recommend, but I think that vaseline, made from petroleum which I beleive is drying, is not be very good for the hair. Olive oil is, and I know lots of people here use Herbal Essences gel. I'm sure you'll get some good suggestions soon!

I feel your pain my hair has just made it through this stage.
I have always been natural, and was the press-n-curl queen, so when I 'retired' my hot comb 4" had to be cut off my ends because they would not revert.

I currently wear my hair pulled over to one side, (I saw Jill Scott with this style in a magazine)and to hide my uneven left side!

I bought some hair combs-remember those
I used 3-4 large and 1-2 small, and smooth the right side and forehead hair back (just a little bit). I put them in 'backwards' so they would hold securely.

I am on vacation next week and plan to experiment with some different 'styles' :dance:dance.gif

As far as the vaseline goes, I would stop using it(atleast cut out using straight up vaseline/petroleum jelly and maybe use something alittle lighter if your hair can tolerate heavier products like that) If you need something with the consistency/thickness of vaseline, maybe you can try using pure shea butter(or Kemi Oyl Shea Butter pomade). The butter is thick(also extremely moisturizing), and a little goes along way. Or you can use Pink Lotion. Amneris uses this on her hair and loves it. It's not expensive, and if you need more weight to your curls, this product will definitely give you that.

I guess once we have a better idea of what you're trying to achieve, we can give better product rec's

With my new style i need all of the above. I also would like my hair to be less sticky (one of the side effects of vaseline i ges)
I use vaseline cuz its the only thing i have thats heavy enough to moisturize my hair properly and the only thing that wont leave my hair sticking out past my shoulders in the shape of a football. iv tried olive oil and it left my hair dry and oily. i dont know how that works but it did
ill try ur suggestions. thx
