MY DAUGHTER IS 12 YEARS AND SHE IS AFRICAN AMERICAN/PACIFIC ISLANDER. i THINK SHE HAS TYPE 3B HAIR. ITS CURLY AND HAS SOME COIL BUT HAIR SOFT. IT SHOULDER LENGTH, WHEN I WASH IT AND COMB IT EASY BECAUSE ITS WET BUT WENT IT DRIES IT WILL FRIZZ AND TOUGH TO COMB. SHE WANTS TO KEEP HER CURLS AND DOESN'T WANT TO RELAX HER HAIR. THE HAIR CAN ALSO GE T BIG ONCE IT DRIES. ANY SUGGESTION TO BRING MORE OF CURLS OUT AND IS IT OKAY OF I GET HER HAIR LAYERED. I HAVE NEVER CUT HER HAIR ONLY THE ENDS.

You are welcome to stay here and post, of course, but there is now a whole separate board called PARENTS OF CURLIES that addresses these types of questions.

For general hair advice for 3b hair, I would refer you to my Who Else is a 3b/c thread and also Amneris's super long 3c Information Thread. Your daughter's hair may not need as much moisture as is recommended in the 3c thread, but it is a treasure trove of great information. Without knowing anything more than what you've told us, I would suggest the Curls line of conditioners and styling products because they are good and light (you can order them here at curlmart). Suave conditioner in the drugstore is also very good and cheap.

If you tell us what products and routines you are using for your daughter now, maybe we can provide even more help in response. Or else, feel free to visit the other board..
