Salons in the LA area

Hello,

I've been a lurker for a while but I am just now posting for the first time. I think I have 3c hair but I'm not sure, might be a 3b/3c combo. I have been wearing my hair curly for years but always in a pony tail. I'm looking for some products that would be good to use and I'm also looking for a shop in the LA area that could give me a good cut that would frame my face a little better. I'm open to ANY suggestions! Also, if anyone knows of some low cost products that work well that would really be appreciated, I'm a single mom so I don't really have a lot of money to spend making myself feel pretty *smile* I spend it all making my daughter feel pretty. LOL!

Thanks in advance!

if you look at the salon recommendations, there are 2 in the LA area that stood out to me, Batia and Aleeza in Beverly Hills and a lady named Leo who works in Studio City. They both have many rave reviews on the salons board. I called Leo this weekend and she was very nice on the phone
Barely wavy mommy to a fine, silky with thready corkscrew 4 1/2yr old girl. HG's Moisture Maniac, PM The Conditioner, Cactus leave-in (original formula)"Mommy I want to look like a lion!" = hair loose and flowin'.
I can only recommend Millineum Hair salon on Fairfax & Third street. Ask for Janae. Sorry I don't have the number, but she's a great stylist. All I had her do was trim/even out my hair and it came out very good.

I haven't been back to her since last year, but I am do for another cut and I also want her to give me a strawset. The problem is I can only go on Saturdays which I guess is when the rest of the world can too, because I have to book a couple of weeks in advance for this.

Thanks, do you know about how much she charges? I just called one place and they wanted $80 for just a wash and cut.

Mostly 3c with some 3b mixed in for good measure

It constantly amazes me how many natural hair salons always wanna try to get over. I would say go to a barbershop, but I don't know how long your hair is and I KNOW you want an even cut.

Also, the place right across the street from the Farmers Market or Grove. She's really cool, you'll like her.
