I tried and for some reason I don't think I care for it... I rather the blue stuff. I don't really know why.

Default Must Moisturize under Gel

I just started using Fantasia IC Gel about 6 days ago. Today was the first time that I did not put my Carols Daughter Hair Milk on first. I definitely feel a differents in moisture. I now know that gel should not be used alone.

I think that Fantasia is my new HG! But I havent tried the olive yet. Is it really better? Let a sista know .

Fantasia has been the only constant in my hair journey, since my relaxer days! I love the stuff.. I have always used the clear, but may have to try the olive oil one when I run out of clear. For everyday hair I use it with a cream and leave in, when I need extra hold like for a night out dancing I use it alone with just leave in. For second day hair I mix it with leave in conditioner and scrunch. A little goes a long way with this product! I always reccomend this gel.

The olive gel has a softer hold, so that may be why you didn't care for it GuyanaGal718. I know it's the reason a few other curlies citied, however, it's the main reason I do like it.

I LOVE Fantasia IC! I also use a light moisturizer underneath.

I have a folder in fotki dedicated to Fantasia IC gel!

Actually sometimes I like a softer hold whenever I want big curls for the day, I just didn't care for it.

I really like the clear, no color gel. I added some 100% jojoba oil and extra aloe vera gel and I get great hold and wonderful moisture. Although my hair is crunchy a little bit, it does lose its crunch to reveal beautiful soft curls...and I have great second day hair needing very little spritz. I think I may call it part of my two product HG....but I want to try a Eulecence hair conditioner.

I've never had any crunchiness issues with fantasia. I use the clear one. I have to agree with brownshugagirl about always using a moisturizing leave-in before applying any gels. I've heard some people use KCCC alone and say they got pretty moisturized curls, but I've been too afraid [of the dry brush fire that could ensue on my head] to even try that. When using KCCC, I know it has a potential to get crunchy, so besides not using too much, I sometimes put a tiny amount of leave-in or coconut oil on top of the gel layer. My hair dries soft and curly after that.

How do I get this stuff out? Co-wash or do I need to shampoo? I want to try it again with a leave in/moisturizer.
It looked so good last night, I woke up today and it was rock hard. I see where I messed up, so hopefully I'll have better results tonight.

fantasia IC is pretty water-soluble, so a co-wash should be sufficient.

Default Hair Help...Please!

I'm a 3c everywhere on my head EXCEPT for the crown of my head (4a with lots of 3c mixed in). I'm really excited about this IC gel...however, I'm a bit concerned about the build up that it may cause. Sooo... I have two questions:

1. Can anyone recommend a good clarifying shampoo (one that specifically removes protein build up and other types of build up)

2. Can anyone recommend a good (nothing heavy) leave in conditioner that I can apply to my hair BEFORE I use the IC gel (too chicken to use it alone..).

Also, I like to wash my hair either every day or every other day in the summer ( scuba diver (salt and fresh water...yuk) and I love to remain active (lots of sweating on my scalp). I usually leave some type of Pantene (not sure of the spelling ) conditioner in my hair (probably not a good idea...but when I decide to go straight during the week..my hair looks so healthy and soft) , add some type of oil to it and then I just let it dry. I like curl and definition...HOWEVER, I can't stand it when my hair shrinks. Once my hair drys (air dry in the summer), I usually part it (carefully into sections) and blow dry the root until about the middle of the piece...that works for me.

Any tips or advice would be helpful.

Thanks to all of you that have posted pictures, videos and helpful advice! I feel so motivated by all of you!

I have just started using Long Aid in the past few months and it layers perfectly with Fantasia IC clear. My hair is so soft and defined and has really stood up to the summer heat.

I didn't care for the green Olive kind. The hold was too soft by itself, and when I tried pairing it with the clear, it made my hair feel rubbery.

BTW, Honeycomb your hair is so gorgeous! And your daughter's length is amazing! Congrats on both.

I've just sampled the blue IC gel on my hair...I cheated and did on damp/dry hair just to see what it's like but I prefer it to the clear, softer hold but still gives definition.

I'm a newbie also to the CG Method. I use suaves naturals as co-wash, sally beautys matrix balm as conditioner, rinse that out. Then I use Kinky Curly Knot Today as a leave in, Curl Keeper, and then I use LA Looks gel. But I'm finging that it's too strong of a hold for me. I put water in with it to make it a spray, but it's still almost too much of a hold and ALOT of crunch. Which I dont like. I want my curls to be soft & actual curls..not stringy and alot of crunch. Would this Fantasia Gel help this problem?
