I use honey in a spray bottle, about a drop to every eight millilitres. It works better for me so when I apply my GF Soft Curl Creme, I completely rewet my hair againt with the honey water and comb it through to get even distribution. The Curl Creme, I find, is super curl enhancing. Even my sort-of-bangs, which are virtually straight, pop up!

Did your hair seem less curly before you cut it shorter? I always had really long hair (almost down to the small of my back) and I got the bright idea to cut it really short. A year later as I was growing it out I found myself with about the same length and style as yours in your avatar. I was totally disturbed because my hair was just not as curly as it used to be. I was very frustrated but thankfully I was in college so I could just put on a hat and go to class and not worry too much about it. But when I finally grew out the layers to shoulder length it was the same curly hair that I always remembered. Maybe it is just the cut of your hair. I know that sounds strange but my hair does not like layers at all.

After trying several different gels, I've noticed that none of them enhance my curls as well as Herbal Essences Humidity-Defying Gel. That stuff gives me the best ringlets of any product that I've tried yet.

3A hair tends to get get curlier the longer it gets and straighter the shorter it gets.

When my hair was short...about ear length it was very curly but the in between stages when I had it layered where when it was not so curly. For me it seems that layers are not my friend...I have had my hair layered when it was long (big mistake!).

I almost cut my hair this summer because I was so sick of it and it is so humid where I live but then I saw a picture of when I was growing it out and that stopped me...don't want to look like that again! Although I have to say that shanadair's hair looks beautiful and kind of tempts me...although I know mine won't look like hers.

I've mentioned this earlier and/or on another thread, but my hair's curliness seems to come and go--and I can't figure out why.

From ages 14-19, my hair was long (down to the middle of my back) and had lots of curl and ringlets. In college, I decided to shave my head on a whim (ok, not with a razor, but it was about 1/2 inch all over) and as it grew out, it was a different texture and a darker color. So in my early twenties, I had short, layered, dark, very tight ringlets that began at my crown and ranged from ear length to shoulder length.

Then about, a year and a half ago, my curl relaxed and I would say it was just wavy. It drove me crazy because I didn't know how to deal with it. I felt ugly all the time and frustrated. It had grown out to bra strap length, and so I thought maybe cutting it would improve the curl. Nope. I got a terrible hair cut (about mid-neck length) and it was dry and frizzy.

Then I found this site! After about 5 months of a modified CG routine, my hair is back to its original curliness and feels better than it ever has.

Nice story, huh? Now I'm thinking I should find some old photos to prove this and post them!
