Oh wow I'll have to pay attention next time.
Have you guys seen the black woman in the Nuvaring commercial? Prettiest head of curls I've ever seen. When the commercial came on my kids looked at me because they knew my reaction would be "oooh!!" and "aahhhh!"
Got paid today. Its 9:04am and I'm hyperventilating because I get to go to Ulta Beauty and I'm buying a few things. My goal is to spend no more than I really should. Please pray for me and my wallet.

I'm watching HGTV and the black woman on the show is wearing her hair curly. She always wears it straight (looks very nice) and I'm so glad she wore it curly for once.

 haha, same here...
huhh...
there are days when im just like what have i done, why have i decided to grow my hair out, i miss not doing nething to my hair except maybe a lil brushing.
but when im a the barber shop to get a shape up, i think but i've come so far, why cut it now. so this cycle just repeats itself over n over n over n over again...
i do find myself getting tired of the names and comparisons. people thinking im some kind of hippy or militant dude.
i do like when people ask me if im a model though because they think im trying to make some sort of fashion statement with my hair, lol
love the fro but i am getting tired of it a lil, i do twist, but then i take em out two days later cuz i mis my fro, lol. not really hip to braids on me, so styling options have pretty much reached thier peak since ima dude.
im really diggin my hair, just don't know how much longer i can deal.
girls how do you do it...

Lol
As they say "It's hard mufukkin work to be this pretty"...
As for your styling dilemma, I hope you work that out. You have the kind of curls that I'm sure attract a lot of attention (some good some bad). Actually to put another comparison out there your hair reminds me of Special Ed from way back..

CurlLee, I think you should get a nice trim and cut a few inches off. I live for the hair on my head so if you want to know how we girls do it... well I feel like my hair is an extension of myself. I pamper it like I would a child. I take more pictures of my hair than I do my 10 yr old daughter LOL
wow that sounded really pathetic
But anyway... today I decided to not only put my hair in a bun, but also braid it. So I have slicked back hair and nothing to twirl. I'm so sad

i try and i used to....
until i found this site, lol. damn nc.com, haha. it has made me much more conscience of my hair than i ever was before. maybe i need to take a break from here, lol.
Maria002: maybe thats what i'll do. get a trim. so once i cut it i'll be like OMG! and it make me miss and appreciate my hair more, but i won't feel to bad cuz i didn't cut it all off (unlike your son, lol). yea, i think that is what i may do.
BekkaPoo: lol, well at least that is more of a realistic comparison (i can see it just a smidge, lol). instead of random people that i look nothing like, but just because of my hair.
subbrock: hang in there
look, she even has a lil curl in the front, lmao
hmmm...
today. oh, i finally broke down and got that giovanni conditioner and shampoo because i saw it at rite aid, lol. that stuff is the ish. i think i found my routine and done being a pj. i just used it and right now i have the sweeetest fro goin on. but the only thing is, its 10:24pm. ima mess it up cuz i gotta sleep on it. damn....
lol

Caleilani, when are you going to open a Fotki so we can stalk you all day?
**** My Curly Thoughts of Today ****
I walked to the train station with soaking wet hair. I will be sick soon LOL There was a woman in front of me with the prettiest red hair and it was in two twist, then a French braid. I was lucky enough that she walked towards my building, then went in the same elevator bank as I, when I saw she got off on my floor I had to say something LOL She told me that it takes her 5 seconds to do (she's probably a 2a) and now I'm on a mission to learn how to do that hairstyle. No I don't normally follow people around like that
Stellababy, I love your curls!!!

Maria you're too kind! I don't know when I'm going to open a Fotki? First of all,I just learned to e-mail pictures not too long ago,I'm technically challenged.Anyways,it was nice of you to compliment that lady there's nothing wrong with that, people love compliments.I know I'm too lazy to do anything with my hair these days, hence why it's pinned up on top of my head. That style would look cute on you Maria.Yes,CurlLee give your hair a break.StellaBaby your curls are pretty, and I'm sure that honey color will look great!

ahhh...felt kinda freeing, i got a little sense of euphoria . i think im back to my old self now. kinda felt a lil ocd'ish about my hair over the last few week since finding this site.
but i think im back now, lol. got this hair thing under control. oh, i was walking to class and i heard some girls walking beind me and one said, he has the most awsome hair.
that gave me a lil extra pep in my swag today, haha
uh oh...

Even though I'm still supposed to be in the bun challenge, my super mega huge jar of eco styler was staring at me, daring me to use it in a yest another product combination.
So yesterday I mixed it with water and coconut oil. The mix turned kind of white, but my hair still absorbed it. I got a bunch of compliments on my hair (but it felt so hard that I was hoping no one wanted to touch in lol)
It lasted through Jazzercise yesterday, and I got 2nd day hair today (with a little help from JC Nourish & Shine).
I wonder if I can use this stuff long term without my hair drying out.... Maria, have you been using the Ecostyler recently?

You go ahead with your bad self CurlLee,I'm so happy for you! We saw a guy at the AT&T phone booth at Sam's Club,he had big curly hair, that was nice to see since we don't see many curlies as it is where I live.I had to look twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things,LOL.There's nothing wrong with being OCDish either.

Hey Natasha...I know you weren't asking me, but I figured I'd chime in anyway!
Last week I gave my hair a break from my bun and got FIVE day hair from Eco Styler & glycerin. Whenever I'm going to a club or somewhere special I use this combo.
I don't experience any type of excessive dryness. I do however rinse my hair in the shower w/ a dab of conditioner on day 3 to add some moisture since my hair needs mositure @ least every 2-3 days.
HTH!

i know what you mean. i do the same thing. well more so for black guys with curly afros because its always braided or dreaded in DC where im from. also i see white curly guys a lot more often, so its not so surprising to see them.
i was working at a clothing store over the summer and this guy came in there with a curly fro. its funny because i was following him around the store and pointing him out to my coworkers, lol, like...look look!
but the thing is i noticed him looking at me too and talking to the girl he came in with, like if he was talking about me, like this crazy guy is following me, lol.
so i finally just said i really like ya hair man, and he was like, i was just telling her i like yours too, lol
both of us talking about one another. shows how rare we are around my parts too, lol...

Thanks it does help! And I got to day 4 wearing it out. On Day 5 (yesterday) I put it in a puff and it still looked pretty good.
I washed it this morning and aside from a few more tangles than I get when I bun, my hair seems fine...
