Miracle product no longer available.
I am sooo bummed out. What do you do when your miracle product is no longer available? Bubble-up was that product for me and I can't get it anymore. Long story short, the company took my money and never made good on my product. I can't find anything to replace it, I'm seriously thinking about chopping off my hair. HELP!

Try to find another product that works equally well if not better? Finding something that works is not easy but who says you might not find something better like a product from another company. Their loss.
As far as the company taking your money, then discontinuing your product... I'd only feel like that if it was a product like a printer (and they do discontinue them so fast now!) or another big purchase.

I feel you when that happens. That happened back when I was newly natural in 1995. I used to love and swear by this gel called Let's Jam by Pro Jam. It was in a clear jar with a green top and the gel was clear. It had the best smell, hold, shine promoting power, and gave my curls instant definition, and zero frizz. I used it faithfully for 3 years. Then one day it began to get harder and harder to find. I found out that they had discontinued it. And I NEVER found anything to replace that gel to this day. But I have found products that work very well for my hair if not better. If it was around today, I doubt I would go back to it.
So, hang in there! You will find something that works amazingly well for your hair. You will have to just give it time and go back to the basics of what makes a great product a great product for your hair....and concentrate on those things when product searching. That helped me to keep more of my money in my pocket and saved me from disappointment after disappointment.
I hate product reformulations and discontinuances. Both are the debil. So, it pays not to get TOO hooked on one product. Companies are always changing, even when the consumers does not.

And I swore I never would and I that's exactly what happened and now I'm hurting. I hate starting over. It's so expensive and time consuming.

Did you pay by credit card? Maybe you should call your credit card company and tell them what happened so you can at least get your money back.

BTW....NBC, is that your hair in your signature? If so, it is beautiful!! You may have to search Fotki's and the threads and find what others are using that works well that resembles your hair and hair issues. That has really worked for me.
I have been lucky enough to find two hair twins and a hair sister. And luckily what they use and their reviews has lead to great product success for me. Just a word of thought. Because starting over is way too hard to do. The process is way too long for a TEMPORARY problem/issue.

Thanks for the compliment Lovemylocks. That was a good hair day. Of course, I used the bubble up. I ordered this stuff through Paypal and put in a complaint with them. The company has gone under I believe. At this point, I don't even want my money back, I want the product. Oh, well. Back to the drawing board.

I heard about that product before on another hair board. You might be right about the company being gone! That is too bad, especially if you really liked their product. Too bad they don't give out their exact formulations.
That is my payment of choice for online purchases. I have always gotten my money back each and every time. I have only had to put in about 3 complaints in the last 5 years.
Good luck with your search. And I am sure that there is something out there that will give you another one of those gorgeous hair days!

I know when that happens to me I try to figure out what is in the product that I liked so much then go to another site like drugstore.com and put those miracle ingredients in their search engine. Many times I can find something quite similar. Sometimes I can even find stuff that is even cheaper than the original that I loved which is a bonus!

That's what I usually try to do, but unfortunately this particular product didn't list the ingredients.

Sorry to hear about your situation. But I was wondering, was bubble up a gel base, cream base, etc? I never heard of it. If I did, I would have bought it.

It was a pudding consistency. It had the hold of a gel and yet was quite moisturizing. I guess you could classify it as a leave-in and I would use it when I would blow-dry my hair. It was a great product.

Hmmm...Have you tried Barry Fletcher's Thick N Slick Custard Creme Gel? It sounds similar in description and ingredients, but BF has more wholesome ingredients. I can get a 16 oz tub for less than 9 bucks.
Here are the ingredients:
Water, hydrolyzed protein, glycerin, avocado butter, propolene glycol, aloe vera, triethanolamine, carbopol, pvp, aqueous extracts of sage extract, nettle extract, chamomile extract, hops extract, rosemary extract, balm mint extract, yarrow extract, dmdm hydantoin, polysorbate 20, fragrance.

Curlygoddess:
That's the website I was purchasing it from and I would not recommend anyone to buy anything from this company. I found out that I was not the only one that had issues with receiving products.
Eccentric_kurlz:
THANKS for the info. I think I will be making a purchase today.

I just wanted to say that really sucks! Unfortunately, I have never heard of this product but I wonder how companies justify discontinuing more popular products like Aveda Elixir. Why would do they do that? Now, some curlies are using Abba Nourishing as a replacement. It's almost like you have to have a back up for all your staples. Since I've already chopped off all my hair, I don't know what I would do if Jessicurl stopped making the WDT. I guess I would just go bald! lol. On a more serious note, I'm sure you'll find a replacement product. Good luck!
