They probably mess with it and heat it a lot less, if at all. At least, this is my theory.

Would love to post a pic of how my curls were. My avatar is the best indicator. I joined to get my curls back in shape.
All you ladies have beautiful curls.

@SapphireWingstar I thought you were me 10 years ago. That is almost exactly how my hair was when I was a teen.

Default I just joined today

I think I am 3B and I'm looking forward to going CG. In the second picture, I used a curling iron in the front to try and get some height and clump my frizzed out sections. Hopefully I won't be needing to do that in the future - I'll try clipping, plopping and all the suggestions here. I'm 52 and letting my hair go gray because coloring it seems to fry it.

I went to your site, but all your pictures were locked

Today I plopped, with gel and leave in conditioner, and clipped for some height. It helped a ton! I've still got some frizzies in my canopy layer.

It's hard to find product in Utah and I didn't want to wait until I could order from naturallycurly.com, but perhaps it's worth the wait. It seems most of the product in the national chain stores have mineral oil and silicones.

The password for my hair album is jeepcurlygurl. It should be working. Let me know if it doesn't.

I use mostly inexpensive CG products so I can easily find them at the grocery, dollar, or drug stores. And if I want to buy something not available in town I usually find it on Ebay. That's where I get my Ojon.

Your hair is beautiful! You're such an inspiration.

BTW, I liked your eighties pic. Posting eighties picts would make for an interesting thread. Here's mine.

Default Day 4 hair

Hi all. I am new here and like the rest of you have had many adventures with this crazy hair. I love my curls though none the less. I am a 3b all over with perhaps some 3C on the nape of my neck. These pics are my hair on day 4. On days 1 and 2 my hair seems to curl up to my ear lobes and as the days go on the curl stretches out. Still trying to truly figure out my hair. BTW, I will never get highlights ever again, as pretty as they are, they damaged the holy heck outta my hair and I had to cut about a good 3 inches off my ends which made me miserable. Now I am growing it out. That is another story.

OMG you girls have gorgeous hair!!! I have damaged the HECK outta my hair the last couple of years, with bleaching it and flat ironing it. I've decided to stop fighting and go all natural, so its back to my dark blonde color and curly again! I knew I needed some help, but after looking at all your gorgeous curls, now I can't wait to have my healthy hair back!! I've started the no poo about a week ago, so hopefully i'm on the right track!!!

You are on the right track. I damaged my hair too by coloring it. My curls cant take stripping. It is too harsh. For me no more flat iron, no more highlights or blowing straight. Im also going to be doing weekly hot oil treatments.

Hey, I really like this thread. So many great curls! What about posting close-ups of hair? I mean pics of the "texture". It looks nice, I think. I'll start...

I'm at about two weeks CG (natural products) and my hair is getting better and better. I find some days it's a little flatter, I'm still trying different conditioners, and I think some are a little too much for my hair. I love the shine, and the definition I'm getting, and it never tangles any more!

I've only been poo-less for a week.
I need to find a good deep conditioner (any suggestions?)...my hair is so fried from years of flat ironing lol
