Hi! Took this opportunity to take a new picture of my hair. In the pics it looks a lot lighter than it is. I am pretty sure I have a 3b hiding there. I have old highlights on the canopy and even older color now faded on about half the length (as well as a lot of heat styling on the oldest hair). Pretty sure it has affected my curt pattern. But I want length so I will just trim and maybe in 10 years I will have it all off! hehe.

You all have such gorgeous hair! I am enjoying seeing your pics!

I'm gonna be a photo whore too....

I'm a 3a/3b and I've been doing CG for approaching two years...but I can dig up pictures of pre-curly girl stuff for you to giggle at!

PRE-CG:

Spring 2005 - this was a really, really good hair day, when I'd had it braided up wet for two days straight:

Fall 2005 - I'd had it all cut off and it was brushed out - a more normal pre-CG look:

POST-CG:

11 Aug. 2006 - the day after I started CG:

Jan. 2007 - after another chop-it-all-off (my avatar):

Apr. 2008 - pretty much what it's like now!

Oh I love seeing the before and after pictures! I was thinking of starting a thread in the main forum so everyone might see it. Your hair has transformed Elithia! Gorgeous now. Gives me some hope mine will still get better than is has so far.

So I too dug up an old picture for comparison. This one was from a year and a half ago (pre CG).... just washed not yet frizzy.....

Ackkkk! Sometimes I feel so embarassed of how my hair used to be. I used to walk around like that!

Now (7 months CG):

Elithia-your hair is beautiful and quite similar to mine I think, though my underneath might be curlier. Your hair just looks healthier as the pics go on! Quick question, does anyone know if you can get totally twisted gel in the uk? Heard it mentioned a couple time now and Id love to try it.

You can see more of my pics in my albums, but I'll post this one here. It's before my last terrible haircut. Now it's just at the shoulders and too wide at the bottom (there's a whole thread on that on the Hair board).

I'd like to get it back to this length. It will probably take me a year because of the shrinkage. This was probably 3rd day hair, excuse the frizz.

I started using a new shampoo and conditioner with some gel and surprisingly they survived the pouring rain that I was caught in earlier today.

You all have such beautiful hair. I have definitely come to the right place to learn about how to care for my curls. I feel that I'm not worthy but I'll paste my picture anyway. I think I am a 3B

-sniff-

I'm a 3A (I think). I keep finding ringlets, but next to you guys, my ringlets seem a bit pathetic. You guys have such pretty hair it's not fair.

ibraidhair, you have my ideal length and curliness. Unfair. No one should have that amount of gorgeousness in one head of hair.

Awww...CurlyEyes it's ok. ALL curly hair is gorgeous. I always wished my curls were bigger and not so kinky, but a las...that hasn't happened so I live with what I have and have learned to accept them.

Hi all!

I've been lurking here for a few weeks, and after loathing my curly hair my whole life - and always wanting straight hair, like my sister's - finding this place was simply amazing. I've really come to love my curls, in part thanks to this site. Here are a pair of photos of me, I'm fairly sure I'm a 3B.

Curlywurly271:

Beautiful photo, lovely blue eyes and of course - those curls! I envy your ringlets.

curlywurly271 - can I ask what products you use? I also live in the uk- I noticed on your fotki you have a bottle of australian organics- I use this and I love it its the best conditioner I managed to find so far. You have very beautiful hair, really glossy and healthy.

Thanks kat
I'm not actually that fond of the australian organics as it's got quite a lot of protein in it and I'm a bit protein sensitive. It's ok for occasional use though. At the moment my fave products are boots essentials conditioner for dry and damaged hair, Vo5 mega hold gel, Vo5 volume boost gel spray, boots curl creme, Angel Fish bounce and curler spray and The Body Shop Amilka leave in conditioner.

I'm glad you embraced your curls, and decided to officially join the boards. You have great curls, I love that short cut!
