My.....Gawd.....!!!

Yes, when I was little, my braid was that thick when my mom brushed the curls out dry and braided it. I have one pic when I was 10 and the braid looks like a thick, long, tight rope. I can't get it back that long to save my life....I could sit on it when straightened.......although I am at almost waist length now.

Your hair is gorgeous!!!

Lol! I know right!

What is it with moms brushing curls out dry?? Mine used to do that too! They called me Parachute Head in grade school.

Being able to sit on your hair must've been super long! Do you have trouble with tangling? I'm looking for some hair twins for help with products and such.

Thanks for the compliment! It's like a part time job. Lol.

Yes, I have a ton of trouble with tangling. My hair looks like it might be finer than yours, but I'm not sure. I think my porosity is pretty high too, and my curl pattern might be tighter. I seem almost 3c on an extra-shrunken day.

ok curlies.... Officially obsessed with curl keeper! Been using it for a few days now and my curls totally got out of their winter funk. They're all springy and defined with less frizz!

Sorry I can't seem to fix the sideways pictures.

I've been using it too! It makes my curls shiny and less frizzy. Not 100% frizz free but I don't think that's possible anyway lol. Do u use it with anything else?

I've been trying it different gels over it for a little for hold. So far I've had really good luck with Aussie instant freeze and decent luck with ouidad tress fx. I've gotten really good second day hair with it too! I still get a little frizz but my curl definition is loads better!

A little frizz?!?!?!? What are you talking about? I don't see any frizz. If that is second day hair, I'd take it any day... as first day hair.

Don't be so hard on your curls. They are wonderful, little flyaway hairs and all.

Curyminx the picture didn't really pick up the frizz but I want complaining either. I have never had second day hair look that good and normally my first day hair had even more frizz than that. Curl keeper is totally my new HG!

OK. I just get crazy when you/we (general you/we) are so quick to harshly criticize our hair when it looks great.

I still get a little unhappy about my frizz too, but I try to remind myself that my worst days are still better than any day before I found this site.

Sorry it's so big!

Just got it colored on Tuesday. My stylist walked me through how she was doing everything (she used all Deva products on me). My hair was really nice afterwards, but not as soft as I would like. I went to Sally Beauty yesterday and the gal who was working was super helpful. She recommended the One N Only Argan Smoothing Shampoo & Condish (which were all of $10/bottle). Got some flour sack towels, and pulled my Deva styling cream and sample size of AnGEL out of the cabinet this morning for my shower. I did what my stylist told me to do (but with the different shampoo/condish), put the products in while in the shower, and then used the Deva Diffuser to get about 20% of the water out (maybe 5 min total with the dryer on). My hair is so soft, my curls are controlled, and I am so incredibly happy!

Sad update... I think the curl keeper is drying my hair out! I tried switching up my gels but all i'm getting is weird frizzy and stringy curls... I'm going to take a break from the ck for a little bit just to make that's what it is. Anyone else have this problem before?

I tried Curl Keeper today and my hair was the worst it's been for months. Dry, limp, horrible. (I tried it when I first started CG and had the same result, so that's it. It's going to the sell/swap board.) Anyway, you are not alone!

I might try ck in the summer when it's not so cold. I'm wondering if the glycerine just isn't reacting well with the cold Seattle weather. All I know is it's back to the drawing board for me!

If the dew point is too low, the glycerin is going to suck for your hair.

Certain products are counter productive in low dew points.

CK dried my hair out. Most gels dry my hair out. I'm not a big fan of humectants out the shower btw...
