S Curl Gel

GRRRR, I think I bought the wrong thing. I have been doing searches and seeing good feedback on this S Curl gel for the 3 C'ers and since it's easily accessible and cheap I decided to give it a try. What I bought was in a gray jar. But when I came home and did a search on the internet for it, I see the one in the tube is gel and activator and supposed to be for hold, less frizz and eliminating shrinkage--which is all of what I need! So when I look under the jar gel I bought, it doesn't say much of anything--just says for curls and texturizers. So for those who use S Curl gel, which do you use? If you use the jar, what was your outcome? Thanks!
Okay, I tried it. Now I see what everyone means by weighing down the curl. This stuff definitely weighs curls down. BUT, I still want feedback if anyone can offer. This didn't offer me any kind of hold. My hair feels super soft, but I have an idea this would not hold through a whole day. Any suggestions? Did I not use enough? I used Suave Coconut Condish and then the S-Curl gel on soaking wet hair. Thanks
Nope, I think people are using the S Curl in a jar. It's the texturizer one, not the activator one that comes in a tube. I think.

The tube and jar are the same. Just ones a tube, one's not. I've never tried it personally because when I sniffed the S-Curl, I didn't like what I smelled. The glycerin giving you moisture is probably what diminished the hold. Any moisturizing product with glycerin in it doesn't have lasting hold. At least not for me. Think Let's Jam! Gel if you've ever used it. If you really want hold, I wouldn't suggest a curl activator like S-Curl Gel because activators are known for high glycerin counts. :P HTH
No, they're actually not the same. One is a curl activator and the other is a styling gel. Check out the ingredients on the back.

I've been using that gel (gray jar/blue writing) almost exclusively for about 7 months. I love it and find I only have to use it every couple of days.

I also use it after a Suave co-wash. Cept I throw in a glob of honey and use MOP Leave-In (distribute it under the shower) a few times a week.

I use the blue stuff in the clear jar.

My hair is only about four inches long right now. What works for me is:

After co-washing with Suave, I put all of the product in my hand, rub it together, and finger rake it through. Then I distribute it under the shower (making sure not to rinse it all out). I use a microfiber towel to blot dry and finger curl any frizzies.

I use a silver dollar sized amount of the gel, a quarter size glob of honey, and (once a week or so) a quarter size glob of the MOP.

The honey makes my curls clump, and gives them shine and definition. The gel give me great hold without stickiness or flakes. Lately I've been getting away with using it once a week or so.

Good luck!

I just tried this for the first time, and please tell me that my curls will spring back up. I've been using such light stuff lately like setting foams and lotions so the heaviness of this is a shock.

My hair didn't like it. Some of it got curly, but most of it just got frizzy.
