here's pics- what's wrong?

i was hoping that if i posted pics of my hair lately then I could get some ideas about what i should add/change to make it look less frizzy and more defined. this morning i used v05 conditioner, co-washed, then added a bit more as a leave in, scrunched the excess water out, raked in some CG-friendly gel, scrunched, and diffused. the diffusing is not part of my regular routine and it actually helped a lot with the frizz. what do you guys think? overconditioned? too dry? not enough gel? too much? i have tried curl cremes, many, and they don't seem to work for me.

The pic looks great to me so I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe this frizz of which you speak is not showing up in the pic. To me your hair looks great!
umm I agree with kookycurl, what frizz??? Seriously your hair is gorg Ive never seen such perfect curls! I want my hair to go like yours!
I agree, it looks really good. If you want to try something, maybe a more moisturizing conditioner?

Yeah.. gotta agree with everyone else.. your hair looks great.
I'm not a fan of diffuseing. I tends to make my hair poof.
When I must, I put a very thin cotton diaper over my hair and then diffuse... this tends to keep the poofing and frizz down.

wow thanks for the compliments! i guess we are all more critical of our own hair. now i am motivated to stick with CG. it's been four years and i think my standards are higher now and i forgot what my hair looked like when i started. as for what i think is wrong with my hair, i guess i want more clumping as well as less frizz and, you can't tell from the pic, but more volume on top and less on the sides. i will try a heavier conditioner. my curls do look like 3b though? I've never been sure.

diffusing has been great the few times i have done it recently. i used to think it caused more frizz and poof, but air drying causes more for me probably because i can't sit still or not touch my hair while its drying so it gets jostled and messed up and by the time it dries (which is like four hours after i shower or more, esp. in this humidity) it is way poofier.

OK, I admit it.....I'm an alias! I wasn't born with the name Honeycurls!
Dood, get over it; there's no time limit on lurking.

I so busy runnin' allllllll over the place and ain't nobody chasin' me!
I'm agreeing with everyone else about your curl, GREAT. With that out of the way, I think the heaviness/poof (especially on the sides) could be helped by a good cut by a knowledgeable curly hair stylist.

I am growing mine out and looking forward to a highly recommended stylist in St. Pete. I am going there for a few days and got an appointment with her. I hope to lighten up the trouble spots like the sides.

Whatever you're doing product-wise looks like it's working...Your hair looks really healthy.

You're hair looks pretty amazing to me! I think we are our own worst critic though. You have great curl formation, no frizz...what more do you want? I don't know what product to recommend, because you look like you're doing a great job with what you have.
