Am I a 3b? Please look at these pictures and help!

I posted this in the 3b pic thread, but I didn't get any replies, so I'm posting it here. I think I'm a 3 B, but I'm not absolutely sure. Do you think I might be more 3 A? I'm just started CG, so my hair's not really that shiny or healthy. It's so frizzy, I feel embarassed posting pics. Can you tell me what type hair you think it is?

Here's my hair with scrunching mousse in it (I think it was dry)

And here's my hair after being wet and then drying naturally. (It's been in a ponytail which is why it's kind of smooth at the top.)

Here's my hair after a few days CG, no products in it. (Again, it might only be smooth at the top because I always wear ponytails.)

3A, medium fine. Currently avoiding shampoos, 'cones, 'xanes and sulfates. Hair length - a bit beyond BSL. Mostly CG since July 2, 2008.

I'm not the best at typing but I'll give it a try. I would call it a 3a. Usually, a 3b curl will start at the scalp--it isn't smooth at the top. Maybe if you post a pick before you do a ponytail. I'm a 3b and I've always got crazy stuff going on at the root!

And don't ever be embarrassed about your hair! We all started somewhere, usually from damageville! I think it is beautiful and I have major hair envy going on right now. i would love to have your length!

Ok, next time my hair is wet, I'll let it dry without it being in a ponytail. Then I'll take another picture and post it. It's funny how frizz often won't show very well in photos. In that last picture I had so much frizz, but you can only see a little!
Thanks for answering!
Hopefully I'll get some other opinions so I can feel more certain of my hair type...

It looks like mine! Although I don't know my hair type for sure lol. So maybe between 3a and 3b. Do you have any pics when it was shorter?
3a. My hair does what it wants.. currently waiting for BKT treatment to go away.

It would be nice, but unfortunately, my hair's never been shorter! Except when I was a baby. I only cut it for the first time in my life about two months ago. I don't know if I'd ever want it shorter, because I'm afraid it will get even more poofy and voluminous.

It doesn't look poofy or frizzy to me, I think it's perty!

Well, thanks!

Here's the newest picture of my hair. I plopped it for 1/2 an hour, then let it air dry.

Eeek! I was actually surprised when I loaded this picture on the computer 'cause it looked so bad!

I can't do the plopping thing either. I think it may not be suited for longer hair, or at least might take a higher skill level to get it to work with longer hair. My hair is still not as long as yours, but I started trying to plop it at BSL and all I ever got was bent up things.

I'd agree with 3a.
Um... plopping?
Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm not familiar with the term.
My hair used to be almost as long as yours (I made the mistake of cutting it 2 months ago) and I used to soak up water from the bottom up to the roots. Not shaking it out or rubbing it, just kind of scrunching out the water. Is that plopping?
(I do that still but my hair is much shorter)

Hi Dwahvel! I didn't know what plopping was either, until I finally found something that explained it. It certainly sounds funny, doesn't it?! http://www.naturallycurly.com/tips/t...or-not-to-plop
