Has anyone tried the "blue" Fantasia IC Gel w/Spar
I went past the BSS while Xmas shopping today and ended up purchasing this gel because I was running low. It has a few more beneficial ingredients and seems to be thicker. I like the regular gel, but I think I'm going to like this one more because the thicker the gel, the clumpier my curls. Also, this particular gel is supposed to be "moisturizing" and the consistency does seem to feel this way. I know the regular gel didn't make this claim and wasn't particularly moisturizing, so we'll see.
Here are the ingredients so that you can compare.
Ingredients of Regular IC gel: Purified Water Aqua , Glycerin , Carbomer , Triethanolamine , Aloe Vera Gel , Dimethicone Copolyol , Tocopherol Acetate , Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein , Polysorbate-20 , Benzopehonoe-4 , Methylchloroisothiazolinone , Methylisothiazolinone , Disodium EDTA , Fragrance.
Ingredients of Blue gel: Purified Water, Glycerin, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Triticum Vulgar(Wheat) Protein, Silk Protein, Panthenol(Vit. B5) , Tocopherol Acetate(Vit. E), PEG-12 Dimethicone, Benzopehonoe-4, Disodium EDTA, Octoxynol-9, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Violet #2, Green #5, Fragrance.
The ingredients highlighted in red are the added ingredients not found in the original and those in blue aren't in the "blue" gel.
I'll give you an update sometime this week.

Shyygirl-
You are bad to the bone I wish the new blue formula didn't have color additives and a cone. Color additives can be unhealthful and are truly pointless. (If they wanted to distinguish the new formula from the old, they could always increase the size of the sparklelites ).
And stop corrupting Subbrock - you know that she is only a student.... j/k, corrupt away! We will all be in PJ jail together when our holiday cc bills come calling..........

LOL!
I'm such an enabler, aren't I? But luckily, my SO pays for everything so no bills for me.
Code:
I'm pretty spoiled, but that's exactly how he like it. ;-)
I almost passed on the gel because of it being blue. It's a very light blue, but blue nonetheless. But, when I rub it through my fingers or just put some on my fingers, it's clear. And, I figured it couldn't hurt since I running low on my IC gel anyway.
Oh, and I also bought some Right on Curl Moisturizer/Activator. Jazzijenni81 uses this, and her coils look so cute and moisturized. It has one cone in it, but I don't particularly care and it doesn't feel greasy at all. Maybe I'll use both of these and post results today.

Update.........
I like this gel better than the regular IC. While I prefer the look and feel of productless hair(just leave in and no styling aides), this is a good gel to have in my rotation.
Pros:
-More coil/curl formation. I found more defined corkscrews with this gel compared to the regular one. I had areas that normally don't hold curls well form corkscrews!
-Doesn't dry as crunchy as the regular IC gel. The regular gel sometimes dries with a very slight crunch.
-It is thicker so I don't need to use as much.
-Mixes well with my products(the regular gel did too).
-Get great results when used with a diffuser(as with the regular gel, but I like the results from the blue gel better).
-Doesn't give me stringy curls(not that the other really did, but there is a difference).
Cons:
-Takes longer to dry(if air-drying).
-Doesn't give as clumpy of a curl as I wanted(and expected), but this isn't necessarily a "bad" thing.
I'll try to add pics some other time. My camera is being a "diva" today.

Re: awww thanks :)
You're welcome. And thanks for the compliment!
Girl, don't buy that gel just because I like it! LOL! It didn't dry crunchy at all, but that may be because I use a creamy leave in under the gel. There wasn't a HUGE difference between the two gels, so if you don't care for the regular gel, I wouldn't spend money on the other one. The major differences for me was curl definition(curl formation) and that I don't have to use as much.
And, I really like the activator. It mixed well with my leave in, and just melted into my hair. Felt really nice when I applied it.

Yup. Anyone can use it, though. I think because it has sunscreen in it(to protect from color-fading), they market it for color-treated hair.

Blue...more moisturizing...sounds almost like Fantasia took some s-curl styling gel and put it in one of their own jars.
Seriously though, do you think the benefits are definitely more noticeable with the blue gel than with the clear? I need to pick up some more, and was thinking of trying either the pink or the blue version of the gel.

I saw a big difference when I used the blue versus the clear. My hair wasnt dry like it was when I used the clear and still has the hold.

Thanks! I've been having some issues with the clear lately. It goes on as it always has, but after my hair dries, some of the curl clumps seperate, leaving me with fuzzy hair, almost as if I hadn't put anything on at all. I'm hoping that the more moisturizing blue version will help keep the clumps together (either that or I need a stronger hold version).

Yesterday I used the Jamaican Cactus leave in and I used Fantasia IC over it. I parted my hair in four sections and combed the products thru. My curls were very defined, BUT I had the white stuff going on at the ends and my hair is STILL wet this morning! Do you have to use a diffuser with this combo of products or did I use WAY too much!?
