Default Your Shampoo, fellow 3a's?

I have a love-hate relationship with shampoo, I've decided.

Right now I'm using Pantene Full & Thick. It's pretty nice, but the ingredients freak me out. I used to use Elucence but it wasn't moisturizing enough and it was a biotch to comb my hair. What do you ladies use? As most of you know, being 3a and having finely-textured hair (my hair's not thin, just fine and super soft on its own), it's usually harder to find something that's not going to make your hair stick to your head. :P

Thanks for the advice in advance.

I would love to know this too. I've decided I need to shampoo to have the best hair I can and I'm just using up my Ouidad Clear Control shampoo at the moment. It is great for me but am looking for something else (aka cheaper) to use.

I have tried a bunch of sulfate free shampoos and so far I like Mastey Traité Shampoo and Jessicurl Gentle lather Shampoo the best. I have no good luck with Sulfate shampoos usually. Especially not in the long run.

My hair is thick, but I have fine strands. It gets weighed down easily, gets dried out easily, over-conditoioned easily and I have a some what oily scalp.
Complicated.

I shampoo about twice a week now. Right now I am using Avalon Organics Nourishing Shampoo in Lavender. I really like it, and its lasts a loooong time between my family, and I. No sulfates, so it does not dry my hair out. Good ingredients!

I have not shampooed for months, but just tried Creme of Nature shampoo and LOVE it! I only use it if I feel grimy.

Creme of Nature is all I've used for about a month probably. I use it about every 6 days. I just water wash in between and maybe an occasional co wash.

I do use some easily removable cones (like in Redken Ringlet and One C), and I've had no build up!

I've used Paves No Sulfates Allowed and it was ok, made my hair feel a little too squeaky clean but didn't dry my hair out. Now I'm using Elucence Moisture Benefits Shampoo and I absolutely LOVE it!! This is my HG shampoo! It smells great, moisturizes, lathers up really well and detangles!

I'm still learning about all this sulfates and cones business, but I noticed the elucence poo had a sulfate in it, is it one that's gentle?

Yes, I believe it is a gentle one (sodium myreth sulfate) It says on the ingred. list that it's coconut derived, and it's also the last on the list so it's a very small amount. I've been using it everyday (or almost everyday, depends on my 2nd day hair ) and it hasn't dried out my hair. HTH

Devacurl Low-Poo is the one I use most often. Sometimes Jessicurl HCC. Haven't tried Gentle Lather yet.

I usually co-wash with Suave Natruals Trop.Coconut condish, but sometimes I will add a couple of drops of Lush Assisi to it (maybe once every week or two). Other than that I might use Devacurl No-Poo or Low-Poo once a month.

1. Deva Lo Poo (my fav but $$ and I end up using so much)
2. Avalon Organics Lavender from Trader Joes
3. Giovanni Tea Tree is very invigorating and relieves my itchy scalp

My hair is fine too. I have a lot of hair, but each strand is fine and can look limp easily!

I use Cream of Nature poo every 2 days & Ojon Ultra Hydrating poo weekly followed by a DT. I have been doing this routine for months now & I have absolutely NO dandruff left AT ALL!! My hair seems very "happy" I would have to give this combo HG status!

i use johnson's detangling baby shampoo a couple times a week. sulfates are in it, but lower down on the list. so i get the clean feel without my hair feeling stripped.
i also clarify with Elucence's clarifier once every other week because of hard water. doesn't strip my hair at all! it's excellent!
