Default How much product???

I always feel like I'm using too much product(gel, moisturizer, etc). However, my hair is very thick, but I go through my products like crazy(it gets expensive!). But if I don't use a lot, my hair doesn't feel like it's getting coated by the products. I comb my hair in the shower and not after, bc it causes too much frizz. So is the product not getting distributed evenly?? Just how much product is enough??

Thanks ladies!!!

I think it just depends on the hair. Have you tried putting styling product in while in the shower? I always leave some condish in, and if I put styling product in that day, I put it in before I use a towel to dry. My hair is still dripping wet, so I think that may help distribute the product more? I have fairly long hair, so it just takes more product in general to get it all in. Do you use mousse, gel, or something else? I find that when I use gel, I make it into a home-made spray gel by mixing it with distilled (or just boiled) water and it makes it easier to distribute it without using a ton.
HTH!

I was using Herbal Essences HD gel. But since it has alcohol in it, it's very drying, I switched to using just a touch of it with aloe very gel. Now I've been just sectioning my hair and applying product that way, but it still seems like i'm using a ton. I'm totally going to try putting it in while i'm still in the shower! Thank you sooo much

Well... I haven't done the shower thing yet, but I did leave my hair a little wetter than usual... and the results were pretty good. I've completely nixed the HD gel. Now it's just aloe vera and honey... and at first I didn't think it would be enough hold, but I was wrong. Plus my hair is feeling softer. Thanks so so much!!!
