Shout out to Shygirl

I tried the Fantasia Gel for colored hair. Wow my hair looked so healthy and felt somewhat moisturized unlike the regular Fantasia that sometimes made it feel a little dry. Thanks for the Rec.

Thanks shyygirl723!

you're hair looks really nice. how do you have it cut? is it in layers?
I don't have a hair cut, and so my hair is just a big blob.
I have an appointment to get it cut, but i really don't know what i'm going to do!

any advice or pictures you can rec?

Thanks!

I cut my hair in slight layers. I don't have a particular cut, though. I just shape it to where I like how it looks.

The only advice I can give is to try to know what you want when you walk in there, and let them know how much(or little) amount of hair you want cut off. Some stylists get scissor happy, which is why I'm hesitant to go to a professional(along with the fact that I haven't found anyone who can do my hair).

Another is make sure they are aware of how you curls fall naturally, especially if you have varying curl types/textures on one head.

The left side of my head has a looser curl(front and back), and my right side is much tighter and curlier. My hair is also looser along my nape of my neck, but tighter slightly above that section. So, I had to leave the right side alittle longer than the left so that my hair looked even, but if I want to flat-iron, it still looks okay.

Good luck!

Thanks shyygirl!
you did a really good job cutting your hair, i have no such skills...

I am going to a salon, and i am a little scared, but i have one picture to take and i'm going to make sure the stylist knows what i want before hand.
i like the idea of slight layers...

i have a little time to think about it, so i'll be prepared when i go!

You should be able to use both on your daughter's hair. I've never had problems with the two flaking. You can purchase the Cactus leave in at most ethnic BSS, or online @ http://www.rastagroup.com/. The gel can be found at most stores, like Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. or at Sally's.
