I had second day hair today!

Yea! The first time in the 3 years that i have been natural. Well, I have had 2nd day hair, but I could not wear in public!

Since Tuesday of this week, I have been wearing my hair out. Tuesday and Wednesday were okay, but with a lot of frizz and really big.

Yesterday, I went back to my original products. Kenra conditioner and Kenra mousse. Had great curls and low frizz. Second day after sleeping with hair in satin cap, looked quite nice. I sprayed on very diluted Greg juice and let it dry. Now at 7:41 p.m., it has grown bigger...

Question: I need something to put on it so it doesn't look so dry. Any ideas? Or maybe I used too much mousse. I will keep experimenting.

Congrats on 2nd day hair!!! I also use mousse and I noticed my hair gets dry sometimes if I use too much. There are some mousses out there that are more moisturizing and have very little alcohol, which helps. I try and leave a lil more condish in if I know I'll be using mousse that day or I'll spray in some veggie glycerine mixed with water and a lil EO. That seems to help me avoid the dryness. HTH!

Yes, congrats on the 2nd day hair!

I like using ORS Lock 'N Twist gel on 2nd day hair to add shine/moisture when my hair looks kinda dry and dull. It's inexpensive and comes in a tub, and the ingredients are mostly, if not completely, natural. It doesn't do a thing for me on wet hair, but on dry, besides the shine and moisture, it adds definition and hold too. Sometimes I add it to 1st day hair when it doesn't come out right.

You can get it at ethnic BSS, and I've seen it at drug stores (Walgreens, CVS) in the ethnic section too. Look for an off-white colored plastic tub with a purple lid. And BTW, I would love to see your hair closer up, you should post pics!

I know I keep talking about posting pics. Maybe I'll post some pics next week when I try the stuff you recommended!
UPDATE: I just posted pics today! I look forward to hearing your opinion urbancurl!

Congrats on 2nd day hair!

For shine when my hair is looking a bit dull I use a little of the Jessicurl oil blend. It gives a really nice non-greasy looking shine and it softens my hair. Of course if you need hold and shine the oil blend will not work alone but I bet it would be nice with the mousse .
