Combing and Detangling (over and over)--Need some help

I was so frustrated this morning detangling my hair! The knots are driving me nuts. Can someone please tell me of any new "tricks" to detangling??

Do you guys still think Elucence or One C is the best for detangling. The only problem is, I feel as if I have to use almost the entire bottle to get enough "slip" to detangle w/o ripping out hair This could be expensive with these conditioners. I CW with Suave Natural Aloe, but it doesn't have enough slip for detangling. Any inexpensive slippery conditioners?? Thanks.

BTW I am now loving Elucence as a leave-in. My hair feels so moisturized. If only I could get the detangling under control....

At Trade Secret a liter costs $26, there is an 8 oz bottle for $12.

According to Bunny, Trade Secret always has a 2 for 1 sale in February and August; and MasterCuts will sometimes have a liter on sale for $10.

Here is a link to the thread.... Keep us updated if you decide to try the conditioner and good luck.

Elucence is one of the best for detangling. Just ordered myself another two bottles. Another great one is Tigi Moisture Maniac.

When you detangle, do you let the conditioner sit on your hair, or do you attempt to comb it right away? It's best to let it sit for atleast 5 minutes, preferably longer. When I CO during the week, I'll apply Elucence almost as soon as I get in the shower, handle my other business ( ), and then detangle. The steam from the shower seems to help loosen tangles.
Also, before applying the condish, I run water over my hair and lightly detangle. Just enough to loosen some of the tangles, so that when I really detangle, I have an easier time.

If this doesn't help, could it be possible that you are in need of a good trim?

Suave Professionals Healthy Curls has lots of slip and is a good conditioner.

I also like to use a shower comb. These detangle so nicely - hardly any strands left in the comb.

Thank you Curlybound, I will give it a try and post the results
Shygirl this may be the case also. I'm scheduled for a trim with Yodit on Friday. My last trim was in 10/05. Hopefully it will help!

Solange thanks for the tip

Be sure to keep a spray bottle near to rewet hair as it dries. Saves on adding more conditioner.
