This is a sort-of spin off of the Tigi Moisture Maniac thread, cause it got me thinking. I am currently mixing cheapie conditioners and always adding evoo and molasses for my washes. My hair loves this.

However, I started thinking about when I travel--I don't want to bring a bunch of conditioners AND evoo AND molasses. I need a conditioner that is a stand-alone that I can use for CW without needing to add other stuff.

What are your "stand alone" conditioners that you use for CW? Ideally ones that are moisture rich and no 'cones. It can be drugstore or salon. Thanks.

I speak from a detangling point of view. But they make good CW too. I don't know which ones have cones or maybe all of them, but they all work really well for my hair.

*just a tip: try adding the goodies to the actual bottles, that way you dont have to carry them w you.

and here's a newbie... Trader Joe's Refresh conditioner. Now that I'm in a state that has a TJ, I finally bought this conditioner and it was great! Nice and rich and CHEAP... only about $2-3 for 8 oz.

Bunny (or anyone else) - how do these 2 compare? I think I can only splurge on one for now.

Hmm, I like the Moisture Maniac more, but it's a much lighter conditioner than the Curls. I actually take the Curls on my road trips more than the MM just because the hotel water is so awful that I need something super strong to combat the stinky hotel crap. But again, if I used Curls every day, I think my hair would be limp and stringy... my work-related job trips rarely last more than 2 days so I don't use it more than 2 days in a row.

I know Mastercuts (a mall salon) often sells Moisture Maniac liters for $10-$12, so if you can get your hand on one, it would be a lot cheaper.
