Question for those of you who use KCCC

I just got my KCCC in the mail. I was wondering how some of you use it. I plan on co-washing with one of my cheapie conditioners then using Nexxus Humectin as a leave in . . . then putting on the KCCC. My question is about application . . . Do you scrunch it in like a gel . . . or do you apply it all over? Please help! Also can I still seal my ends with oil when I use this . . . and if I can, should I do this before or after I apply it?
I apply KT and then KCCC section by section. I part and ingerstyle my hair so it's sitting basically where I want it and the just clip all my hair on top of my head and pul it down in 3 or 4 inch wide, thin sections and apply, stretching and smoothing each section as I go. If a section seems to be fuzzing or tangling a bit, I'll comb it to smooth it out after applying products. I don't scrunch my hair. (I don't get scrunching...it just seems to make my hair frizzy and the disctributes the product unevenly.)

This is a similar process to "shingling" (missjessies.com) but faster. Also, I don't comb each section or blow dry like they show on their site.

Also, KCCC makes my hair A LOT harder (crunchier) than other products so I use it very sparingly or else I end up with a helmet. That's a good thing though (once I figured out the amount to use) because it means the jar lasts me forever.

ITA w/ Sophiacurls. I use mine w/ kckt as well but I did read where a few ppl used other leave ins. I detangle before the kckt and that way I don't have to detangle while applying the kckt and kccc.
if luvin KCKT and KCCC is wrong I don't wanna b right

sell crazy somewhere else...we're all stocked up here.

It is a good detangler but there are better ones, for me at least. I like Elucence mbc. I think it has more slip. I only buy the kckt b/c it works well w/ kccc and I don't want to waste my kccc testing it w/ anything else.lol

I think KCCC application is one of those things that you just have to experiment with. For ex., if I apply it in sections, my hair comes out hard, feels like plastic, has a "wet look" and that just doesn't look so good on me, and it seems like my hair is taking 10 days to dry.

So instead, I only apply a nickel-sized amount by rubbing it between my palms and applying it to all my (sopping wet) hair at once, gently finger combing it to distribute it. That doesn't necessarily give me the most even application, but my hair dries with a medium hold that feels soft and looks shiny.
I just want to do what I want to do when I want to do it.
Do you get Elucence at CurlMart?

I do but there's a local distributor here in Charlotte. However, they only sell to stylist and they don't have a list of salons that carry their product. I think someone here buys it by the liter but I can't remember who.

i buy elucence by the liter! i get it directly from a distributor though. but before that, id buy it at www.pleasantimage.com. its the cheapest place to get it.

when i use KCCC i shingle it in after ive already applied my elucence and detangled. im going to try just finger combing it through and see how i like those results though. and i usually dont use oil when i use KCCC, but if i do, i apply it before the KCCC.

Ok so I used the KCCC last night. I co-washed with Herbal Essence Hello Hydration . . . I used the Nexxus Humectin as a leave-in, sealed my ends with Natural 7 (Olive Oil) formula . . .then put in the KCCC. It dried pretty hard. This morning I sprayed my hair with water scrunched in a little more Nexxus Humectin and went on my way. My hair turned out shiny, frizz-free and wavy-curly (if that makes any sense) . . . but I like it. The KCCC didn't have any weird reactions to the Nexxus at all. Only thing is I'll have to use something else when I'm looking for just curls and not waves.
i swear this product is the most technically challenging i've ever experienced in my life. I've only tried it twice and strangely enough i got better results with VO5 strawberries and cream than with KCKT. But with the former my hair took several days to dry... no joke! the outside was dry but the inner layers were not. Don't know what I did wrong. They really need to have a video demonstration of how to apply their product. It's too touch and go.
