Album update: Curling Custard Results are in...

LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!!

I use Curling Custard as a leave in product like Curl Keeper and then add my styling product. CC is more of a frizz reducer for me, not a styler. Using it that way may help you with curl formation.

Potterville--I am going to try your suggestion today. Will get back to y'all with pics tonight or tomorrow a.m., as it takes almost the entire day for my hair to fully dry and show how well the products did or didn't work.

Thanks again.

Medussa-

I would love to try your gel mixture - what are the proportions that you use?

Also, on the other thread, your comb for detangling looks fine but I prefer to use vent and paddle brushes for detangling. There is no reason for you to change a thing you are doing because your hair is drop dead gorgeous.

Shampoo: Herbal Essences-NOYF

Conditioner: Herbal Essences NOYF Conditioner mixed w/ Coppola Keratin Complex Conditioner

+ TJ Nourish and Olive oil combo.
Thanks, Bianca!

Curltopia--I used equal parts Devacurl AnGell and Suave Anti-Frizz Aloe Vera gel. I threw in FOTE Aloe Vera gel for good measure, but not as much (it seems to hold without making my hair crunchy). So, I took a bit of KKCC, rubbed it my hands and raked it through (I usually never rake). Then I took my gel mixture (I put it in a bottle with a pump) and raked/scrunched it through. I scrunched a lot more than usual because the KKCC seems to relax my curl at the top. Then I took those metal clips and put it around my canopy. It just seems that no matter how much I gel up there, there's fuzz. So, the clips seemed to help a lot.

The great part is that I still have nice second day hair. The gel does it for me.

I will try the vent brush tomorrow. It might be a better detangler than the comb, decreasing the amount of hair I lose in the shower. So it's worth a try. Thank you.
Ooooooh!!!! YAY for the gel mixture recipe. Thank you Medussa! I will try it out soon and report back on your thread.

Good luck on the detangling experiments.

I mixed half Angell and half 94% Aloe Jelly I had lying around - about 3 TBSP altogether. Finished with a few drops of jojoba oil. My hair is dry now and is full and soft with big curls I'll post pictures in the summer with different product combinations. Until then, I'll keep experimenting.

Thanks for the great tip! I hope that it works for other curlies too.

Okay, just looked at pics and WOW your hair with gel over it looks great! The CC as a leave in/frizz reducer is the best.

Medussa,
I have to say, your hair is gorgeous, just beautiful! I don't think I ever visited your album! I am very impressed.

I have the same problem with curl formation - more waves than curls. I always thought it was due to the length of my hair. When I had it shorter, it appeared more curly.

Keep posting your pics. Your hair is to die for!
