Default Album update: Curling Custard Results are in...

I've updated my album with lots of new pictures, documenting my experimentation with different products.

The last three pictures are from last night (KKCC) and I don't think I got enough in there. I notice some frizz in the back.

Today I combed it through and I'm now waiting for it to dry.

Let's see what happens today.

Medussa-

You know that I think your hair is breathtakingly gorgeous. Your entire fotki album is an inspiration for me to keep growing my hair - it's an inspiration to all curlies of all curl types period.

WOW.

I see that the KCCC looks good but gives you smaller curls. I think you might like that look sometimes as a change. Keep playing with it - the best features of KCCC are the moisture, all natural ingredients and fact that it combines moisture with hold (even though I still need to use some gel with it).

I think that Jojoba Jelly would be a HG dream product for you. I hope it gets offered again, although it's not helpful to get hooked on products that aren't available on a steady basis.

Do you have luck with Jessicurl products? I am thinking that a Too Shea conditioner wash followed by Aloeba and Confident Coils as leave in/stylers would give you big waves, which is yet another type of look for you to sport when you feel like switching up

Oh no you don't! I haven't tried any of her products. I was under the impression the Jessicurl products wouldn't work on my hair. But I don't think I will be spending anymore cash on hair products. Once I run out of my staples, I *might* give her products a try.

You are so right. The KKCC gives me smaller curls. I like that look for a ponytail. The Fanatasia IC gives me great ponytail hair too.

I cannot wait to see your album once you get it up and running. Is your hair still the same color? I'm debating getting highlights again. I saw a picture of Marielle's hair and her black curls look so pretty.

Thanks for saying such nice things about my hair.

Whoops, sorry about PJ enabling again But Shyygirl does it even more than I do ... lol.

Jessicurl offers sample packs so you might consider her "rich" sample pack and check out the routine that I suggested. Lots of 3b/c curlies use Jessicurl - most of her products are awesome and her prices are fair.

I will post pictures in the summer when I can show off some real growth :P The color is still reddish brown, but I do switch up sometimes. The main goal is to have low maintenance, natural looking color using the most natural ingredients that I can find. Henna would be ideal but I can't risk having some *off* looking color result that ends up lasting for two years or longer...

I didn't know she offered sample packs...but I'm still waiting until I run out of the Fantasia IC and the KKCC.

I didn't realize Henna was permanent. I thought it washed out over time.

Your hair is absolutely GORGEOUS!

Your hair looks beautiful in every pic. I would just keep experimenting with the KCCC. It takes a few tries before you find the right amount to use. And don't be afraid to use other leave ins underneath it . You don't have to only use V05 S&C condish. I've been able to use Elucence and MOP leave in with KCCC with no problems.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I really appreciate it.

I used a lot more KCCC today and it does have a hint of greasiness. But I don't mind. If I'm still awake when hubby gets home, I'll have him take a few pictures.

Tomorrow I will try the KKCC with just a tiny bit my special gel mix: Suave AV Gel, Devacurl AnGell and FOTE AV Gel.

Can I tell you how much I LOVE your hair? OMG just beautiful!
I cant wait untill my hair gets that long.

here is a suggestion on what I do with the Curling Custard. If my hair starts to dry before I finish applying the CC I spray it wet again with a spray bottle and apply the CC by smoothing it.
It works best on soaking wet hair for me.
Then if I have any frizzies left I use the Spiral Spritz and that seems to take care of it.

Hello my twin curly!

Thanks for updating your album! Your hair looks amazing and
I can't believe how long it is!! Wow.
I didn't have any luck with KKCC. I am not sure if I used too much
but I felt dirty when I used it. I would love to try Jojoba Jelly, if
it's offered again.
I agree with Curltopia on Jessicurl. I love Jesssicurl, but I use it
mostly in the summer. It seems to me that we have similiar result with hair products,
so just wanted to let you know that I've had success with her products.
I am doing a one year challenge which ends next month.
So be on the look out for my updated album sometime next month.
Thanks for sharing you look beautiful.

Well, I used more KKCC yesterday...not much of a difference. Let me see if I can post a pic in a few minutes. I'm bummed about my results though. There are too many waves and not enough curls in the back. I just want my whole head to have curls, like my ends do. Any suggestions?

No suggestions, but the KCCC I think is meant to elongate curls, so that may be why your hair has more waves. I get the opposite affect. I get shrinkage and defined curls.

I still think your hair looks gorgeous.

So, do I. <sigh> I could just stare at Medussa's lovely tresses all.day.long!!!

Medussa-

I'm not so sure about how to achieve consistent ringlets.... That might be more of a genetics or even a technique issue than a product issue. But, fyi, Jessicurl products are NOT going to give you more curl, they will give you more wave. If that is undesireable to you, then no need to try that line.

KindredSpirit has really pretty ringlets, and so does Miacurl, although their textures and curl size differ. Also, they both seem to have natural ringlets with no extra effort or manipulation. But maybe check out their pictures and PM them for tips, just in case they have any to share
