Default Washing hair everyday?

I've been washing and conditioning my hair everyday with Aussie Moist and Conditioner. I can get 2nd and 3rd day hair by spraying my hair with water and reapplying a little gel, but I've noticed that my scalp feels better and my hair looks better when I actually washi it with shampoo. Does anybody else do this?

I wash every other day. I used to wash daily with no problem; I am just lazy and conditioner was costing me $$$'s.

I generally wash each day. My 2nd day hair is scary and I work out 6 days a week, so it's a must.

i'm curious as to whether you guys live in humid climates, or what sort of water you have. I would love to wash daily, but have to stop myself knowing the consequences. My hair is nice and smooth and moist after I wash it. Until it dries. Then it gets dehydrated and ready to snap from the slightest touch.

It takes around 2 or 3 days to recover, so I save my daily shampooing for when I'm in a humid climate, which, sadly, isn't often enough. btw, I live in a "temperate" (read: cold, just not freezing) climate, and in an area acknowledged as having some of the hardest water in the world.

When I had short hair and a twa I con. washed everyday because I liked the look of the fresh curls (and myhair would mat overnight.) It grew like a weed and was never dry. (not like now)

I've gone through phases when I've washed my hair everyday-- like humid summers with no air-conditoning. And I like the way my hair looks best after I've washed it. But unfortunately, after a while I do notice my hair looking and feeling dryer so I never keep up daily washing for very long. I'd just pay attention to your hair, and if it starts seeming drier than usual, give the washing a break.

More than 2 or 3 times a week for me and I enter the DZ (danger zone).

I've noticed it too, lately (in my hair, not yours ). I thought it was perhaps the Fantasia IC. But it must be the daily experimentation with products and washing my hair everyday. Before I became hooked into fussing with my hair again, it looked pretty good when I did go natural. Most of the time, I had it pulled back. Therefore, I was washing it about 1 time a week. Twice, tops. I'm going to do some deep conditioning today and won't wash my hair until next Tuesday.

I can wet it everyday, right? As long as I don't CO wash?

I live in a very dry (TX) climate, but I still cond. wash almost every day. I deep condition 1x per week under a heating cap and add honey and castor oil.

I must say that I'm finding the Fantasia IC to be to heavy/too drying/too crispy for my hair on most days. It works best for me immediately after a deep conditioning.

I really like the Suave Professionals Healthy Curls Mousse much better.

I think wetting it everyday should be fine. Even CO washing every day, if you are not prone to getting overconditioned. I will wet and condition almost daily in the summer and it doesn't dry out my hair.

It's experimenting all the time that makes me wash my hair too much too! You want to get all the products out of your hair before you try something new.

Cant wash everyday. My hair will get extremely frizzy and dry if I do. I never shampoo my hair. I usually use a lemon juice/conditioner combo, or just wash my scalp with conditioner. But I do wet my hair everyday

I wet my hair every day, but I only co-wash every 5 days or so, and I use shampoo about once every 3-4 months.

I use to use shampoo every day, and it was dry as the desert breeze, a condition that I thought was normal.

If I used shampoo on my hair every day, it would come out of my hair onto the floor like curly straw. I am positive of this.

I switch up my routine and sometimes cut out cleansers and just use ACV or coffee rinses, and other times use hcc, low poo or a clarifying cleanser. I never cleanse more than 2X a week and even that is too much. Cleansing every 1-2 weeks is just about perfect, using the rinses or a "conditioner wash" in between. I wet my hair just about every day, condition, detangle and re-apply styling products (like leave in and gel). Fortunately, my routine is pretty quick.

So is the consensus here that most of you curlies have to wet/ or CO wash/wet hair everyday in order to style? It doesn't work to style hair when its dry (non-wet)?

I do very little styling dry. The products I use seem to coat my hair and make it sticky when applied dry.

The most that mght add to dry hair is a bt of crl cream or curl mousse.

what's the difference between cond washes and cond rinses? Please explain fully. By the way, I usually cond wash my hair almost everyday (2nd day hair ain't for me), but today I decided to what what I assumed was a cond rinse. I rinse some product out, put in conditioner and rinsed it out a little. It was horrible. The only thing I don't like about cond washes is that I have to apply the product everyday ($4 gel only lasts for a week). Anywayz, may someone please explain the difference?
