Does anyone use leave-in condtitioner and nothing else?
Hi ladies,
My hair has been a bit dry lately, and I'm thinking about spending the next few months babying it. Do any of you use only a leave-in and nothing else to define your curls? Paul Mitchell's the Conditioner only does this if I use TONS, which leaves my hair feeling coated and filmy. Aveda's Elixer works perfectly for the first hour or two, but then my curls become very fuzzy as the day goes on. I'm thinking of purchasing Elucence. I really just want something that will define my curls and hold them a bit. Any ideas?

yes, sometimes I just leave in a little elucence and diffuse.
It leaves me with big fluffy curls.

I do that sometimes. If I diffuse I get fluffy hair. If I let it air dry I get weighed down curls. I used to use the PM The Conditioner but that left a film. Right now I am LOVING the Bumble and Bumble leave-in.

I second the Elucence! My hair is very moisturized, soft, and fluffy after only applying Elucence, then air-drying. Actually this is my staple routine. .....wash,apply leave-in, air dry. I've only just begun experimenting with styling products...gels/pomades/potions.

Its full name is Bumble and Bumble Leave-in (Rinse-out).
It is the first cream that worked to make my hair soft. Elucence did absolutely for my hair. Paul Mitchell left a film.

We exchanged a PM about this, but yes, I do it almost all the time and usually with Elucence. I usually mix it with oil. I have to use tons of whatever conditioner it is unfortunately.
I do find gel drying, medussa. I don't think it actually takes moisture out of the hair, but it makes it feel hard and coated.

MOP leave in is a good one for moisture and definition. I like the Cantu Shea Butter Conditioning Repair Cream too, but it has a heavy cone in it.

Thanks guys. Amneris, I decided to go ahead and order the Elucence. Will you personally refund my money if I don't like it?
I'm really excited to try it. I've heard so many great things, and I hope it works for me as well.

Yeah I've been doing that a lot lately. I still have a full jar of Fantasia IC gel that I haven't used because I've just been slathering my hair with Elucence or Abba combined with my Sebastian Potion 9 Leave in and heading out the door. Matter of fact, I just used that gel today for the first time in awhile.

I joined the Elucence bandwagaon this week also! Today is my second time using it. So far so good. I bought it mainly to use as a leave in, because I haven't had much success in finding one that I really like.
I am experimenting with leave in conditioners today.
I shampooed with the Elucence shampoo, then conditioned with Kenra and rinsed. Then applied Elucence, a few drops of jojoba oil and Kenra leave in to mostly wet hair.
So far good...I think next time I will remove a tad more water.
I will post pictures once my hair is fully dry.

Please do post pics! I would love to see your hair with the Elucence. Also, what specifically do you like about the Kenra leave-in?

I almost always just use conditioner as a leave in and nothing else. Try Tigi Moisture Maniac or Abba Nourishing. The Abba gave a bit of hold, but it does have protein in it if you are protein sensitive, it's still worth trying

I hope it works for you! If not I am sure you can swap it away to someone who loves it. I go through that stuff like water!
I forgot to mention Tigi Moisture Maniac, if E does not work out for you. And how could I forget Kerasoft by Jazma? Yes, I have too much stuff....

Portae,
I am not sure if the Kenra leave-in is special or not...still trying to decide because using so much can get costly...it is $12 for 8 oz.
Here is a link to my pictures...hair is 99% dry.

I use Abba's Nourishing, but I add a bit of oil, too. Other than that, no styling products.

Abba Nourishing is great! I haven't used it with an oil yet though. I may try that. It makes my hair so soft, I can't imagine it being softer!

I use leave-in or regular conditioner alone about half the time. I air-dry, and get a nice amount of definition. I rarely do this anymore, but adding a few drops of honey will kick up the hold/shine factor. I don't know if gel is drying, but I think the act of sealing the hair with gel locks moisture out.
Elucence was no good for my hair.
ABBA is good.
Devacare OC is good.
Aubrey Organics Island Naturals is good.
Giovanni Direct Leave-In and MOP are both good but a bit inconsistent sometimes.
And some lesser-known leave-ins that work nicely on their own are
John Masters Organics Citrus and Neroli Leave-In/Rinse Out, and
EO Lavender Leave-In/Rinse Out

Oddly enough, the following cheap products seem to do it for me. I use and leave in Suave conditioner. Between $1-2 a bottle, depending on where I buy it.
After clearing out the tangles, I run some Suave mousse through it -- super cheap and forms defines curls while keeping it soft. Then I'm good to go.
I've used many expensive salon products, but this routine works best for me.
