DRY DULL HAIR

I deep condition every week or two, but my hair has no sheen or shine... and my hair line is really fuzzy. I don't think it FEELS dry, it just looks dry and crusty... it has no shine like other girls have when they use gel... I am utterly confused. And my scalp won't stop itching. I don't know what I'm doing wrong! And I don't know why this is happening! Can anyone help? TIA

Maybe you need to clarify?

Does your deep treat contain proteins? Maybe you've gone overboard on proteins?
I'm a 3b, with 3c underneath.

Used to be CG, now I'm not. Using Suave Aloe & Waterlily shampoo & condish, JoiWhip, BRHG, Suave Aloe gel, Aussie Tizz No Frizz, and anything else that looks good!
My Myspace!
CurlyJenn nope. deep treat doesn't contain protein. my hair is very resistant anyways, so that's not the problem. i used tresemme condish every day for a month and it never had a negative effect (wheat protein is the 5th ingredient)

St. Louis Blue I don't need to clarify. I've shampooed twice since I got my hair pressed... my hair seems to be clean/build up free

CurliLocs My routine:

I shampoo at least 1x week with Suave Apple Shampoo
Condition Wash with Suave Condish every day (unless running late)
Deep Condition with Elasta QP DPR-11 or Lustrasilk Tea Tree Cholesterol when I remember...
Gel - Fantasia IC Sparklelites or LaBella Super Hold & Shine Gel
Grease - Blue Magic Coconut Oil (LaBella is a rather weak gel for slicking hair back and I have a fuzzy hairline... this helps to hold it back somewhat)

My hair is rather fuzzy and straight-looking on one side. When I slick it back or wear it down, it doesn't seem to have that much shine (w product)... it lays down but it's just there. Do I need more intense moisture in my routine? I hope I explained this well... :x
It could be the grease. Have you ever considered using natural oils? I use cococut, advocado, and jojoba for styling. I add olive oil to my deep treatments. How long have you been using those products? Maybe you could rotate and introduce something new.

Maybe I need to just use moisturizing products and wear my hair in styles that encourage curl on my left side -- maybe down, but I have too many different textures so the curls hang weird. Not ugly.... just a little jerri curlish.

oh, i see

petroleum products like grease tend to make my hair shiny and behaved. i don't think it's the grease because i don't use it everyday. i don't need it really unless i use the labella gel because it's a little weak for my hairline. but i think my hair line is only crazy because i never use moisturizing products. i don't know any that work though! except for CON Regular. that stuff always makes my hair more defined.
