Hi I'm new! - q's: kemi/bbd/CP
I've been lurking for a few weeks, so I thought it was time to register and join you all properly!
I'm not quite sure what my hairtype is, my hair kind of looks like Kelis'/Amel Larrieux's/Rachel True's, so I guess that's a 3c or 3b7 or something?
Also, I would really appreciate your input on some of these products I just ordered. I ordered some Kemi Oyl products and also BBD's stretch growth and glass. I heard the girls from Miss Jessie's used these products when their salon was still called "Curve" and later on created the CP. Has anyone tried BBD? How does it compare to CP? I would love to order CP, but the shipping is so expensive (I'm in Europe)!
Have any of you tried Olive Oil Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion by Organic? Ladies (and Gents :) ) you should try it! I love it, it's very creamy. I use it on soaking wet, conditioned hair and it's great to moisturize 2nd day hair too! It's only 3 dollars or so.
Well I'd love to hear from you!
xoxo Miss Dogla
Re: Hi I'm new! - q's: kemi/bbd/CP
Je naam zegt het al, je bent zeker van Nederland
I dont care for kemy oil products and havent tried BBD or Curly pudding. Curly pudding is just too expensive and BBD doesnt list ingredient lists
(so I've heared). So that closes the door for me. I use cheaper products with good results. But I hope they work for you. What are your holygrails at the moment?
Inderdaad, ik ben een Suri-Dogla uit Nederland! :D
My holy grails right now (pre-testing BBD/Kemi/Suave Con) are:
-Humectress by Nexxus, been using that for years and years now
-Olive Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion (fabulous fabulous!! and CHEAP!!)
-Honey and olive oil mixed with my conditioner
-Creme of Nature Shampoo, I hardly ever shampoo (I do the no-poo thing), but when I do, this is the one!
Other great products I use are:
-L'anza Styling Cream (Urban Elements)
-L'anza Hair Polish (Urban Elements)
The styling cream is great for fat chunky curls that go north-south (it's a great product for adding weight to your hair) and the hair polish ives great shine and smells soooo good!
Now tell me your HG's!
xoxo / bossi-brasa (that's Surinamese for kiss and hug) :)
I used creme of nature shampoo for a while. it was a good one. But my hair cried for a new shampoo. I now use black earth total body shampoo from taliah Waajid. My conditioners are Suave tropical coconut and Taliah Waajid enhancing herbal conditioner for deep conditioning. I use Jessicurl Aloeba Daily conditioner , Qhemet olive cream detangler and Taliah Waajid profective mist bodifier for moisture. My styling aids are Curls whipped cream, Mimosa Hairhoney from carols daughter, Qhemet honey bush gel and Taliah Waajid crincels and curls.
All these products I get from Mariposa Import. I'm a product junkie. I guess you can tell by my huge list
Hey, I see you're using some of the products I've got on my wish list! I'm a productjunkie too (it's bad, it really is I just ordered 8 products from kroeshaar.com and am already looking for more cause I just discovered mariposa!! OMG!! LOL...).
I checked Mariposa yesterday and I really want to try Qhemet, Curls Whipped Cream and Jessicurl's DT and Cleansing Cream (decisions, decisions  ...). Could you tell me more about the Qhemet and Whipped Cream? How do you use them, why do you love 'em etc.?
I've also ordered the Mimosa (@kroeshaar.com), I'll let you know what it did for my hair when I get it!
I also ordered the Curly Girl book, do you follow CG?
Well, I'd love to hear from you! Hor i srefi!
Honey bush gel= soft defined curls with no crunch. Not a hard hold.
Amla olive heavy cream= very moisturizing and it makes your hair soft. You only need to use this 3 or 4 times a week. The moisture will still be there the next day.
Olive and honey balm= this one is also very moisturizing. It gives great shine and soft hair. Its great for twists and braids.
Olive cream detangler: my favorite. Its very nice and creamy. It gives my hair slip and sooo much moisture. I only need to use this every other day. Its great for detangling. I like this on my puffs.
Soap of alep: very nice noo poo bar, but I like shampoo better
Whipped cream: I'll update you on this one. I'm just starting to experiment with it. So far I like it.
I dont follow curly girl. No poo method doesnt work for me.
I just got the curls spiral cream and extacy tea conditioner today. I heared that its better to use the spiral cream and whipped cream together.
Thank you so much, Subbrock!
Have you ever tried the Qhemet products and Mixed Chicks Leave in? I just cannot decide what to get. Right now I use Humectress and ORS Olive Oil and Carrot Oil. Works fine, but I'd like more moisture, and even better looking curls (less frizz).
Candy, thanks for your review, LOL, I really appreciate it. Still don't know what to get, though...
So I'm basically torn between Jessicurl, Qhemet and Mixed Chicks. I hear Mixed Chicks is great, but it does have a cone... And I like the no-poo thing. Or I could get Mixed Chicks with Jessicurl's HCC?
If anyone has an opinion on these (or other great) products, let a sista know! :D
i havent tried mixed chicks or qhemet before, so i cant iffer much about that.
since you no poo you could probably get a very gentle shampoo from a natural line (i use giovanni shampoos) which is comparable to the HCC by jessicurl. that way you could spend more money on other products!
Smart thinking! :) Thanks!
