My Ouidad Cut - Updated Pic's in my Album

I had my Ouidad cut yesterday and I would give the experience a 10/10 score!!! : My hair was done in Plano, TX @ The Styling Hutch by Claudia. She is also the salon owner. It is a very modestly decorated facility, but the staff is very friendly and the service was oustanding.

As a first time client, she spent a few minutes asking me about my expectations - I wanted to maintain length but have a more defined shape. She first trimmed the ends and slightly layered the canopy. Then she thinned out the mid section of my hair so that it would hang better when dry. After the cut, she deep conditoned with the Ouidad DT. She rinsed this out and shingled my hair with the Ouidad Climate Control Gel and sat me under the dryer for 10 minutes. I was very pleasantly surprised to have my hair shingled - a new experience for me. I usually just blob everything on !! She used a diffuser to dry my roots and then styled my hair. It looks great - especially from the front. My hair has lost the "shaggy triangle" look. My hair actually looks longer because it falls better when fully dry. I have less overall shrinkage. It is a very subtle difference but I am thrilled with it.

I would definitely recommend the stylist and salon to anyone in the area wanting a great cut and style without having to fly to NY. I was in and out in an hour - impressive!!!

The one product that she recommended to me was the DT conditioner. have some old color on my ends and she thinks that this might help to prevent the dryness. It is so $$$$$ that I'll probably try the Devacare 1st.

I also posted pics of my kids - one got a braid out and the other a roller set for their Easter 'do.

What does "shingled" mean??
Probably a 3c....
Welcome!!!

Shingling - This is done to clean wet hair to help with curl formation and to also help elongate the hair. You start at the back of your head and section your hair horizontally. You apply product (leave in, gel, pudding, etc.) from roots to ends and pull through wth a comb and smooth downwards. After doing each section you either sit under a hooded dryer, use a blowdryer w/diffuser or let air dry.

There is a link somewhere on these boards and also the Miss Jessie's website that explains this much better.
