Default AG Recoil for 3c

Hi curlies,

I keep hearing all these great reviews about AG Recoil - how do you 3c's like it? I am looking for a new stlying product. I normally use strong hold gels - would Recoil work the same way? I'd love to hear what you think of it. Thanks!

I have this and it worked really good for me. I have some pictures in my album where I used it. They are the ones from March with my new color and cut when my hair is really dark. Anyway, I liked it a lot, but got more hold and curl enhancement from Mixed Chicks (I lost some curl due to over coloring). But re:coil is worth the investment. It works great!

Iluvcurlz, I checked out your album - your hair looks great w/ the Recoil! Very nicely defined and frizz free. Thanks for the review! By the way, your hair looks very good dark. Very shiny.

And who are all those kids in your album...Mason and Kiki? Total cutie pies!

NESRINE, your hair is amazing. It just spirals like that naturally? What are your products and routine, if you dont mind posting?

Hi there! I'm new & i've been checking out the 3c forum just to make sure what my hair type actually is. I've looked at your album IluvCurlz & my hair is very VERY similar to yours. Shaved it all off last year August & hair is sitting on my shoulders - though when dry it's a huge puff! I've tried drugstore products, but am concerned with all the 'cones & sulphates 'cos I can definately see that it's drying out my hair.

What i want to ask you (IluvCurlz or anybody that can help!) is if you do anything to make sure your hair at the back of your head has the same curliness as the rest of your hair? My hair tends to be more wavy at the back & completely ruins the look of all the little tight curls in front & on the sides.

Thanks,
Kaay

Thanks for the compliment! I get the spirals to last longer (up to 5 days) by “finger-curling”. Here is my routine:

-Wash with Orjene Kelp Shampoo (or any SLS free shampoo)
-Leave the Orjene Kelp Conditioner in for about 10 minutes then rinse completely
-I don’t towel dry my hair at all – just wring out some of the excess water
-Apply Blended Beauty light styling lotion to wet hair (it’s a great leave-in for me)
-Apply Biolage Gelee (old formula – I managed to find one more bottle at a local drugstore)
-Then I finger curl each curl by starting at the root then down to the end (I add more gel to each piece while doing this) – this prevents frizz and helps achieve up to 4th or 5th day hair
-Let the hair air dry all the way

It takes about ˝ hour or so to finger curl but it’s worth it! Good luck.

Hey KAAY! I have less curl in the front due to overprocessing with permanent color and more curls in the back. Through trying different products, I have realized that some make your hair curls more than others. Mixed Chicks leave in makes my hair in the front curl just as much as those in that back. It works beautifully for me. I also started to "scrunch" the front of my hair after I have applied all of my products., This encourages the curls and helps a lot. Maybe you could try doing that with the back of you hair. I also think the my new gel, Aussie High and Mighty helps hold the curls in the front too. I had to change all of my products to get my curls back in the front. So maybe you could try a stronger gel to hold your curls from falling or turning into a poof. Since your hair is similar to mine, you gotta post some pic! I'd love to finally find my long-lost hair twin! Let me know if you have anymore questions.
