Default How Do YOU part your hair?

Why can't I ever get the part right on my hair when I wear it down? If I part it down the middle, it looks weird because my hair gets flat on both sides when I comb the gel in... but it makes it worse because the wavier side looks extremely flat compared to the curlier side. I am scared to experiment anymore because i might not be able to fix it next time...

i part in the middle. i put the gel in first then use a wide toothed comb to part my hair afterwards. and i use my fingers to spread the gel, not a comb. this helps keep the curls nicely formed.

it doesn't part? what do you mean? mine doesn't naturally part straight or anything. i figured it out... i can't part my hair when i wear it down or it looks retarded. i just have to let it fall like it falls after i comb it in the shower (unparted)

You can still part it but the way I do it is kind weird I guess. Basically I put whatever products I'm using in my hair, hang my head upside down and use my fingers to part. I don't try to be exact because it'll look bad, but if I want a side part, mid part, diagonal part I just trace through my hair in that direction. Then, with my finger at the end of my "part" I toss my head back up and let my hair go where it will. You end up with your hair parted the way you wanted, but it doesn't looked like you tried so hard, you know.

99% of the time I wear my hair down, I have a headband or it's pinned back (hard to explain). The 1% where I part it, it's down the middle (my natural part).

I'm not sure if I have a natural part or not. But I've been parting my hair on the right forever. I'd love to do a middle part, but it never sits right. Maybe because most of the front wants to flop to the left again.

i mostly wear my hair in ponytails, so i have a trained straight part in the middle of my head. i'm actually trying to change it because the stylist who highlighted my hair said it was naturally parting too far back i have to start wearing my hair out again...no parts necessary

yep...my part goes to far back on my head because i used to wear my hair in 2 pony tails and so now it just parts that way.

I've been parting my hair down the middle so long that it's now trained that way.
Hairdressers used to get frustrated by it!

My hair never had a part until I started perming my hair when I was 11. Since then, even with straightened hair, I always part mine in the middle. I think my hair just parts in the middle on it's own out of habit now...

I have a natural part in the middle of my head.

But I only wear side parts, so what I do is part my hair while it's wet. Then I use some type of stylng creme to smooth the hair down on each side. Then I use duckbilled clips to "force" the curls to form the other way if I decide to airdry.

If I decide to sit up under the dryer then I use one of the wrapping scarves with ventiliation holes in them (I forgot the name) that I use to use from my relaxer days to hold the hair down while it dries.

HTH!
