Am I one of you?! This is my hair right now - I'm having a bit of a bad hair day because of the cold and the pic is just done on photobooth, but hopefully you can see. I have a lot of short layers (the shortest not even to my ear yet) and I'm hoping that as they get longer my hair gets a bit bigger and prettier.
I have such hair envy for all of you with longer curls.

LOL! Don't worry - your hair will grow. You're not alone in the growing department, either. Quite a few girls here are in that process.
As for your curl pattern, you could be a 3a. But, it's hard to tell from a picture and it can also depend on your hair's health. My hair got curlier since I began CG in September... or October. (Whatever month it was! LOL!) For me, identifying curl pattern wasn't as key as finding out my hair properties. I found out that I had fine hair (didn't expect that) that's low in both porosity and elasticity. Once I found that out, I found out what products to use to best help my curls do their thing.
If you are interested in doing that, check this out: Curl Wizard - CurlGenie Profiles - I had the Curl Genie Premium Profile and it was worth every penny. My hair has never been better.

That looks like a neat site, but I'm not able/willing to pay $10 for that :P

TRYING to grow it out- maybe softer water and going almost strictly CG will help!

AZwaves: I love your haircut too. It's absolutely perfect for the shape of your face. How exactly is your hair cut? I can't tell with the curls. Is it sort an inverted bob? Longer in front, shorter in back? Whatever it is, it's rockin'! (Wouldn't work with my face...but I'm just curious.) I love it!

Kimmiisan:
I like your hair! But I can see how you can make it bigger right now. Your hair is nice and defined--and you can get it bigger just by sliding your hands in alongside your scalp and just sort of shaking it a bit and tugging at the roots slightly to shake it away from your scalp a little once it's dry. Nothing too rough, because you don't want to break up your clumps... Try it!

I'll give it a try.. I think part of the reason why it's not as big is because I have some short layers (like, slightly shorter than my ear length) and the long layers are quite thin. Thanks for the tip I'll give it a go today.

Oh yeah... that's what I want my curls to look like once they get longer.
That being said, I'm scheduled for a Devacut on 1/22. I'll have to tell her that I'm growing it out. I have to say, my hair has grown a LOT since my last Devacut in October! Check it out:
Here's a pic from right after my cut:
(ignore the color - it was sunny in my bathroom when I took this pic - and this was after shaking my head. LOL!)

WOW! I'm so impressed!
Every single picture on this thread is beautiful! I love how we all have the same "hair type" but it is so different for everyone else!
Halloween! | Flickr - Photo Sharing! My best hair day! (Touched up with a curling iron.. so shameful I know.) Mine is the blonde hair and my friend's gorgeous brown curls! (haha I was a fortune teller for halloween...)
LM Week!! | Flickr - Photo Sharing! My hair (again the blonde) on a pretty humid day... Hahaha sorry about the goofy faces!
Also sorry about the links, I can't seem to figure out how to post pics directly in here

My hair after combing it in the shower then attacking with a moisture spray and allowing to air dry.
Really need to figure out how to get root curl!

I have mastered the art of diffusing and I decided I am going to post another picture here.. because none of my friends appreciate how rare a really good hair day is. Haha.

Oh no!! Why are you combing it??? Rule #1 of being CG is no combing/brushing unless you're in the shower and have conditioner slathered all over your head. Some here use a Denman brush on their hair when they're out of the shower. But, that's a tool to distribute product more than anything else. So,... step away from the comb! Your curls will thank you. LOL!

This is my hair. I think I am a 3a, but I don't have a lot of curl in the crown in back. The pictures aren't the greatest. I would like to figure out something different for my bangs.
