3a hair pics!

I've been growing my short hair out for close to a year -no cuts- and while I'm happy it's longer than before, I'm discouraged it's taking this long...but here are my now-shoulder length 1st time ever CG curls
Can't wait for true CG long curls!

-Mostly 3A, though wavy if not enough moisture (like when I lived in CO.).
-High dew point gives large ringlets, though smaller & tighter coils at neck.
-Med. texture, high density, normally porous?
-sulfate free, silicone free baby!
-searching for good stylers (but can't purchase living in China! must wait till summers to buy in US)
I think my hair seems to waver between 2c and 3a. It's hard to see in the pics, but I definitely have much more curl definition in the front. (issue with technique, maybe?)

Using the CG Method since October 2011

3a curly hair, Mid-back length
High porosity, protein craving
Some of my fave products:
-DevaCurl No Poo/Giovanni Tee Tree Triple Treat
-Suave Naturals Condish
-LI: DevaCurl One Condition
-Stylers: DevaCurl Light Defining Gel/Frizz Free Volumizing Foam/Jessicurl Rockin' Ringlets (not all at once )

Learning to embrace my curls one step at a time
I already asked if I was 3a, but didn't really get an answer. I think I mostly am. My hair looks kinda messy at the top here... but I like the middle/end

It's rare that I will do a straight co-wash. I prefer cleansing conditioners (CJDF is my absolute favorite). I still have to rotate in a low-poo once or twice a week (currently using Shea Moisture). I use my RO as LI (loving CJ Beauticurls and ION Effective Care). My hair is happiest with LI + curl cream + gel. I love Re:coil with pretty much any gel, but I've been using Biotera gel most frequently. I also do a PT and DT once a week (IAGirl's PT and One n' Only Argan Hydrating Mask). My hair doesn't seem to dislike any particular ingredients- it's almost suspiciously agreeable, and it LOVES protein.

Your hair looks a lot like mine, though mine is longer. It is currently bra length. Does yours tend to straighten out as you go through the day? Mine does. Still working on my "magical mix" and hoping the longer I am cg the curlier my hair will get. I am new as well Beautiful hair btw!
Hi! I am brand new to this site and a bit neew to curly hair. I kept my hair very short for many many years. and now that I am growing it out, it is curly. untamed. O got a hair cut last month that is helping the curls, but now I want to bring out more. So I just a few days ago began CG. I am using Miracle 7 conditioner for a co-wash and their leave-in as well.

Would someone please help identify what type I am?

Hair properties (texture, porosity, etc) are much more important factors than curl pattern in figuring out the best way to care for your curls. Also, I believe the Miracle 7 products contain cones, which would not make them CG friendly.

Corrina,
Thank you! the link is very informative. I have fine hair, normal porosity. I do have a few ringlets near my face, but more so on the underside. (if I flip my over?) I can get my finger to go up thru them.

Any advice will be greatly apprecdiated!!! And I promise to post pics as I progress along!

Thanks again!

Everyone has such beautiful hair! I'm relatively new to this site (been checking this out for a few months, but just recently started participating in any discussions). I was wondering, what gives you all the best results as far as shine, without creating too much weight? I'm trying to stay away from silicones, but I've noticed that I'm having a hard time controlling frizz and adding shine without weighing my hair down. I'll attach some pics for you all to see.

2c/3a, botticelli/wavy/'swavy (huh?)
fine, dense, normal porosity/elasticity, dry climate

My favorite brands are Kinky Curly, As I am, Curly Kinks, Curl Junkie, and Darcy's Botanicals. Also love sealing with oils (loving argan oil right now) and styling with jelly products (KCCC is my current favorite). Mostly trying to keep it simple!

I was having an awesome hair day two weeks ago and just feel like shouting from the mountaintops... can't wait to see what happens after the Deva cut in two weeks.
