3a hair pics!

Like Corinna I believe mine is a 2c/3a mix - some of the curls are looser but that can be the nature of curly hair. It does not have the 2c texture as described by NC.com. It is fine, thin-medium, and bounces up nicely.

It's come a LONG way since last summer tho!!
fine, thin, normal/(low?) porosity. Mod-CG. Usually I can't co-wash more than 1x a week, & sometimes I have to use T-Gel in rotation due to scalp issues.

Co-wash: VO5 Volumizing
Poo: Giovanni 50:50
RO:TN, Nexxus Youth Renewal, Alba Coconut
LI: KCKT
PT: gelatin PT, ION EC
Stylers: Giovanni mousse, TIGI Curls Rock amplifier (a-cone), Curls Rock Strong Hold Mousse
Gels: SCC spray gel

Using the CG Method since October 2011

3a curly hair, Mid-back length
High porosity, protein craving
Some of my fave products:
-DevaCurl No Poo/Giovanni Tee Tree Triple Treat
-Suave Naturals Condish
-LI: DevaCurl One Condition
-Stylers: DevaCurl Light Defining Gel/Frizz Free Volumizing Foam/Jessicurl Rockin' Ringlets (not all at once )

Learning to embrace my curls one step at a time
Thank you!! I wasnt sure if i should even post in this thread cuz my pattern can be so mixed but the type description property-wise is closest to mine.

My 2 biggest discoveries have been protein and mousse. I was terrified of protein at first but my hair drinks it up & I use it daily, havent yet met a protein my hair hates. And the concept of mousse was weird at first too but it doesnt weigh me down. Now im looking for a stronger hold mousse with more "substance" & some protein - joico joiwhip was reccomended recently since its free of drying alcohols.

Everyone has such pretty curls(:

Mine is in my Avie. I think it's 3a with some tighter 3b's that you can't see at the nape of the neck. Either way I'm learning to love it!
Type -2c3a
Low Poo-Kinky Curly Come Clean
Condtioner-Kinky Curly Knot Today Conditioner
Products- LA Sports Gel and DevaCurl Mister Right
I discovered CG almost two weeks ago. Loving the results so far. Still trying to figure out which products work for me. I started out co-washing with a Suave Naturals, and the Suave spray gel with no cones. I also bought the DevaCurl starter kit, and I'm still trying to decide if I like it. My hair is still extremely dry, and I'm having flyaway/frizz issues. Pics below

I like the DevaCurl nopoo/lopoo and condish okay, but not the stylers. Way too much protein and glycerin for my hair - made it fuzzy, dry and crunchy (yuk). If you haven't already, you should check out the website for Live Curly Live Free to read about hair properties; once you figure that out, it helps with finding the right products. It's still a lot of trial and error though (I'm still searching!).

2c/3a, botticelli/wavy/'swavy (huh?)
fine, dense, normal porosity/elasticity, dry climate

My favorite brands are Kinky Curly, As I am, Curly Kinks, Curl Junkie, and Darcy's Botanicals. Also love sealing with oils (loving argan oil right now) and styling with jelly products (KCCC is my current favorite). Mostly trying to keep it simple!

Hello everyone! I'm new here and just starting to "make friends" with my naturally curly hair. I have worn my hair straight for almost all my life. After routinely straightening, I'm glad that I actually have some curl left! I'm hoping that after laying off the blow-outs and flat ironing that it will get curly. I'm so glad that I found this website, very informative! Anyway, I'm not really sure what hair type my hair is. What do you guys think?

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

Thats all thats really important when deciding what products to try. Figure those out & look for people with the same properties in their siggies & start with those products. Usually a good place to start!

I'm pretty pleased with how my curls have turned out today, definitely a good hair day (even if I do say so myself, lol!) Didn't do anything different to my usual routine either (co-wash, rinse out, leave in, gel, part diffused, part air dry, SOTC.) Isn't it funny how you can do the same routine and end up with different results! Anyway, here's a pic :-
