Your hair is like mine too! I've been doing the cg method for about 2 weeks now and I'm starting to see more curl pattern. I started at 2c but now my hair is 2c and 3a curls... I think! Maybe someone can tell me based on my pic :/ I'm so new to all of this! The product that work best with my hair so far has been Eco styler krsytal gel. I also use ag re coil to help activate my curls

I think I'm 3A with a little 3B in spots. Here's my first good curly pic from this morning. I'm so excited I'm sharing it everywhere. lol! I've only been CG for 2 days, so I've got a long way to go. My hair is super dry, even with the atrocious amount of conditioner I gave it this morning.

Thanks. I think I got lucky in this pic. Today I have 2nd day hair and they're starting to look a tad drier and super frizzy. The halo is like a hat over my whole head!
But they feel really dry and rough to the touch.

Maybe i'm more 2c? 3a underneath?
My hair is so fine, it's so hard to get that top layer to match up to the rest.
I'll have to look at the 2 forum to compare.

Brand New!
Okay, so I am brand new here but I'm completely addicted! I found this website 3 days ago and have been poo-free since then. I'm really hoping I can get some healthy curls and eliminate the frizz because I don't want to wear my hair up every day anymore.
I think I'm type is 3a but I'm open to a different opinion because I probably have no idea what I'm talking about And please offer suggestions or tips if you have them, I'm looking to experiment with just about everything until I find the right routine.
My biggest issues at the moment are getting my hair to clump and dealing with frizz.
Thanks again for any feedback! I can't even describe how excited I am to begin this process!!!

I don't think I'm a 3b!!
After looking at all of the awesome hair pics here, I think I'm not a 3b like I thought! Still figuring out my newly embraced curls, so this is just another step on the curly path!
Had to pull the hair back today because it is like 10000 degrees in my classroom and there is no AC.. Pay no attention to my mess in the background! I get on nc after the kids leave to de-stress!
Thanks for all the pictures ladies... an inspiration to keep going!
Just thought I should mention.... this is 4 day curls for me!!! That has never happened to me before!! YAY!!!

Wow! You have my dream hair for when it grows out. Mine will never be that thick though, so sorry for the lack of product advice. Btw, I've only been on here a few days, too.

I've been CG for about six months now, and wanted to post an updated picture. I'm so excited to finally see such good results! And I've finally figured out a good routine and several staple products I am so happy to see the reduction in frizz and increase in shine, and I'm getting consistent day 2 and even 3 hair.

Thank you so much you are too nice! It took me quite awhile, and a lot of experimenting, to finally find good products and a routine to get consistent results. My hair is fine, although there is quite a bit of it, with normal porosity and normal elasticity, and I live in a dry climate (Colorado). So, if you have similar properties, maybe some of this stuff will work for you. I'll just list out products I've had the best results with, and then a quick description of my current routine.
Cleanse: I like to use cleansing conditioners (right now I like CJDF) or co-wash (TN or SN). I haven't used shampoo, not even low poo, in a while.
RO: TN moisture, DB pumpkin seed, GVP CB, Curls (for Target) Coconut Curlada
LI: CK satin roots, Shescentit coco cream, DM hair whip, AIA LI, SM curl & style milk, Giovanni DLI
Stylers: I've really been liking jelly stylers (don't like regular gel). My faves so far are BS stretch curls gelee (puree is good too), UFD curly magic, DM miracurls, SS CEJ and FSG. I also like DB cream gel.
Sealing: EO serum, DB curl styling cream
My current routine is: cleanse first (either co-wash or cleansing condish), then apply RO condish and leave on my hair while I do other shower stuff, then detangle and Rinse. If I'm co-washing, then I will sometimes skip using an extra RO, depending on how moisturized my hair feels. Then I apply LI to soaking wet hair in the shower (rake/comb through), then my styler (rake/comb through). After that I use the super soaker method to add more water to my hair, twist my hair in sections and scrunch to reclump and encourage curls. I gently squeeze out the extra moisture so my hair is damp but not dripping, then scrunch a sealing product into just the ends. I plop for about 10-15 minutes, then air dry. This has been giving very consistent results for me. I do rotate my products, trying not to do the same combo twice in a row as this also seems to make a difference.
For 2nd or 3rd day hair, I sometimes refresh with a little watered down condish or LI (smoothed over the canopy and then scrunched in). If the curls need a little more help, I will cup water in my hands and gently squeeze into my hair until very damp, then apply the condish/LI and scrunch some extra styler in. If I need to, I'll use a flower sack towel to squeeze out extra water, or maybe even plop for 5 minutes. I always air dry.

Your curls are so long!
When my hair is longer the curls start to go straighter and straighter...lol
I just got a haircut, so I actually have quite a bit of volume
First picture is haircut...I'm not sure why it looks so dark in that picture. It's a light auburn color generally (like in the second picture--which is old. Before CG)

I think I'm a 3a?
I'm new to all this, and just started co-washing & plopping, but today I got the Shea Moisture kit and the L'Oreal Co-wash - and I love both! I'm growing my back out after a big chop for work (I'm in theater - had to do a big 60's bob) so making friends with my curls again after all spring and early summer with 'straight' hair.
I can't figure out how to get a url for an image upload, but here's my hair today:
Curls | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
I'm very intrigued by these new-to-me methods, and can't believe I've lived this long not knowing about sulfates and silicones being bad for my curls.
