Default Paul Mitchell The Conditioner vs. Elucence

I am just about finished with my liter of Elucence that I ordered. While I liked it, I wasn't overly impressed with it. The more I used it, the more I started thinking that it is really similar to Paul Mitchell The Conditioner. I was just wondering if anyone else finds them similar or if one is superior ot the other. Basically, I'm trying to find a good conditioner that I can use as a rinse out and a leave in. I really did like the Elucence, but not enough to make me want to order it online every few weeks.

Hmmm.....I don't really think they're that similar. I like Elucence better than PM The Conditioner, but it comes pretty close. I get more uses from Elucence(four, actually), and all of my styling products work better over it. The one thing the PM condish has over Elucence is how much more softer/moisturized my hair feels when used as a leave in.

Uh. Shygirl, do you really only get 4 uses out of a bottle of Elucence? Am I reading that right?

PBI, I'm not sure, but I think she means she can use it for four different things, i.e., (1) Condish Washes, (2) Condish, (3) Leave-In, (4) Deep Condish. I certainly can...

I have noticed a difference the way my hair responds b/w the two, especially after it dries. It's fluffier with PM the Conditioner vs. more defined with the Elucence. As far as softness, both work equally well for me, but Elucence is more multi purpose for me.

Not that I can only use a bottle of Elucence 4 times, but I can use it for 4 different uses. UCurlGirl almost got it right, with the exception of the 4th use. In addition to using it as a CO rinse, rinse out, and leave in condish, I also use it mixed with warm water in a spray bottle to revive curls for 2nd(3rd, 4th, etc) day hair.

And I get the same results as Curlilocs. I get more defined curls with Elucence, and more of a fluffier look with PM.

I"ve tried both. I like the original better because it doesn't seem to leave as much as a film on my hair, and I think it's more moisturizing. However, the difference is THAT significant. So, if you don't like the Sally's version, you probably won't like the Paul Mitchell original. Have you tried it as a rinse out? When I used it, I would load my hair with it, let it sink in while showering, and then rinse most of it out.

I've used the Sally knockoff of "PM Detangler". It sucked; didn't even come close to detangling the way PM does.

I haven't tried "The Conditioner" knockoff but I wouldn't judge the PM product by your experience with the Sally product. I acutally used to use "PM The Conditioner" years ago and it is a good product.

HTH.

I don't like either The Conditioner or Elucence all that much. But I do like PM Daily moisture condish pretty well. And I love Regis Design Line Olive Oil condish. My favorite is OneC, though. And I want to try Tigi Moisture Maniac. Have you tried any of these?

(I'm not a 3c, but I have a lot of 3c traits.)
