Default ponytails causing hairloss

I'm 19 and have been wearing my hair in a ponytail ever since I can remember. Lately, I've been noticing that everytime I brush my hair into ponytail, these two pieces of hair on my head always stand up and I'm noticing that the hair on my temples is starting to thin out . Do you think this is due to wearing ponytails everyday? I HATE to wear my hair out because it never acts right, it always makes me hot, I start to sweat and then my hair starts to look a mess . How can I stop my hair from breaking without wearing ponytails everyday?

I have been wearing ponytails all my life as well. While I haven't noticed any changes in my hair, for the last year or so I have been wearing really loose ponytails. As in winding the scrunchie around once, maybe twice when creating my ponytail. I would just try loosening up your ponytail. Try clips instead of rubberbands and scrunchies. Keep it really loose when u sleep. Figure out a routine where you will like wearing your hair down or headbands to keep it out of your face. HTH
