"Magic" frizz reducer treatment with * pics *
hi all,
This is my first post recommending something!
I thought I would drop by and share a treatment I concocted last weekend, because I am thrilled with the results. I've posted the full details on www.cherrylola.com but the gist of it is this.
2 part yogurt
1/2 part baking soda
1/2 part Braggs Amino Acids
applied and left on for 45 minutes and then rinsed,co-washed and styled as usual. But the results were amazing to me. So little frizz and far more curl!
I'm going to call it the cherrylola treatment
Here are some pics before and after:

I think it turned out well!

Your hair looks great! I've fallen in love with yogurt as a deep treatment. Sometimes I mix in aloe vera liquid and slippery elm powder. But I have never tried the mix that you used.
Your results are great! I'll have to try your mix sometime.

Beautiful! I don't think I'll be making my own conditioner in this lifetime but I do have the Lustrasilk. Also I'm getting ready to cleanse and condition my hair with ziziphus spina christi. Maybe I'll add a little Bragg's aminos and greek yogurt to it. I got my hair trimmed yesterday and styled with Chi Organics Styling Glaze. it did a good job but there is something in it that made the back of my hair frizz and it feels coated.

I did a cleansing/conditioningg treatment of part zizyphus spina christi, about 2 tbs of Bragg's and 4 oz of plain yogurt. I'm not sure if it reduced the frizz, but I think the T&C is less frizzy and smoother. I'm going to do another one in about a week. Here's a photo link; it's just untwisted and fluffed here.

Thank you all and thanks to Cherrylola for the recipe. I'm definitely trying it again, maybe without the zizipus spina christi for comparison.

Cherrylola, I want to thank you for this recipe, too. And ask of few questions for anyone who's used it. I'm assuming that it's mainly a protein treatment because of the Amino Acids. Other then my head smelling like teriyaki marinade, this stuff was incredible. My hair was a little dry, as a result. I'm thinking protein, again--or it could have been too much baking soda for me. Is the purpose of the baking soda to neutralize the acidity of the yogurt (like in baking?) I really want to continue to experiment with this, the curl I got was just amazing.
Last night, I did a DT with CJ moisturizer in a jar, Avocado and Apricot Kernel Oils to counteract the dryness. Left it in overnight and rinsed this morning. My hair is back to it's usual softness and not as curly.
Has anyone tried this adding a little oil??

I've mixed oil into my yogurt DT before when my hair has been extra dry. But, don't get to carried away with the oil. I've done that before and it made my scalp feel coated.
