Fantasia gel with sparkle lites or KCCC. Rake thru wet conditioned hair and only gently scrunch out when dry or don't scrunch at all.

It also really helps to grab sections of your hair in a fist and gently squeeze the product in your wet hair. And it never hurts to keep rewetting your hands while applying product.

Hope that helps!

My hair is really short right now (TWA) but I achieve the "wet" look by adding a conditioner and/or gel to wet hair...really wet hair. After I do that, i leave my hair alone, and do not touch it, and let it air dry...that is all i do for now. I guess you just basically use a gel and/or a styler to wet hair, detangle and let it set...do not touch it while it is drying..causes frizz. HTH

I'm trying this out with water and oils. I haven't added any conditioner to my hair for 3 days (which for me is a long time to go without).

At night I mist my hair with water and add oil in sections and combing it all through. Then I bun overnight and mist and fluff in the morning. So far it looks okay.. it can get stringy when that happens I just soak my hair in water for a minute and let it air dry. This seems to help the stringiness.

My staples: Mane n Tail (cowash), Garnier Fructis Sleek n Shine (leave in condish), Grapeseed oil or shea butter (sealing), Organic Root Stimulator Elasticitea (leave-in condish & light hold)

The wet look is unachievable, Don't expect your hair to look the same texture as it does when it's wet... Gel will make yoru hair shiny and might elongate it... but it will not look the same as true wet hair...
Long Aid Curl Activator Gel for extra dry hair with Aloe Vera, because it gave me the wet look i stopped using it. you can get a 32oz. jar for like $6.

Ive heard Sebastian's Wet is good for the wet look. Its a very liquidy type of gel. Actual Curls Gel'es'c reminds me of "Wet"

That's funny... I also stop using products that give me a wet look / crunch (KCCC)... I can never wait for my hair to return to it's fluffy, dry state.. Fuzzy = Funky!

I think all curl activators would give the wet look.. But like ~Curly~ said, your hair will never look the same as it does when actually wet. If you pamper your hair with product while wet, your dry curls will be so lovely, you won't even miss the wet look!

not all curl activators are the same. so far the long aid is the only one that actually moisturizes my hair

It can be a hit or miss with gels so if one doesn't work for you try getting a different kind. I use either Curls Gel-la'c ($26) or Ecostyer ($2).
  1. I wet my hair
  2. Apply conditioner all over
  3. Detangle with a paddle or Denman brush
  4. Section my wet hair in 3 sections and apply the gel to each section of my hair
  5. Shake and scrunch my hair with one hand
  6. Let it air dry
The trick is to not touch your curls. You'll WANT to touch them, but don't do it till its 100% dry otherwise you will have frizz. This used to take me 30 minutes in the beginning. Now it'll take maybe 5 minutes.

My friend told me today that my hair looked wet and she liked how it looked. I did my normal routine: applied (by raking in) conditioner to soaking wet hair and scrunched in LA Looks Sports Gel. The only other thing I did was scrunch in castor oil on my ends and a little on the canopy. Lastly, I plopped in a towel while putting on my makeup.
3B Mod CG
Medium texture/ Normal to low porosity / High density

Current Routine:

Shampoo- GTTT, GVP Paul Mitchell Tea tree Shampoo or ACV/ Baking soda (once a week)
Co wash- Trader Joes Nourish Spa
Leave in- Shea Moisture Shea Butter leave- in, Elucence
Gel- BRHG

Holy grail combo Feb 2013: ISO Bouncy Creme with BRHG on top!
I'm using Kera Care leave-in (currently ISO new CO) and style with Aveda Confixor while my hair completely wet.

I have 2 friends 2b & 3b and we all got pretty consistent results with it. A shiny, bouncy curl but probably not
exactly wet looking.

I am 3c with some serious fuzz hovering in the center/back area!
