But it's a strange point of view. Of course there are white people with type 3 hair. It just shows cultural ignorance to assume that a white person with type 3 hair had to be mixed.
Siri types my posts for me.

Hmm...I can't remember if I posted something in this forum! But anyway, both of my parents are black, but my great-grandmother was Native American. (Oh, and forgive me if I have already responded to this forum!!!)

I'm creole & american indian.. some of my hair is 3b and some is 3c (near my nape). I suppose that the creole imparts some "black" in my background but I identify as a "white" girl.
I would be careful making generalized statements about race. I know 100% African women that have 3b.

I'm mixed with black, white, indian and who knows else. I'm proud of it and I embrace my lucious curlies! Everyone where I stay has straight hair making my hair stand out more. I like that.

I would not say that most 3b are mixed but my dad is American and my mom is Puerto Rican so I have a weird texture of straightish/curliesh/frizzish hair

I am mixed but a mix of white - Scottish, Irish, English and a little Cherokee thrown in for good luck. On my Mom's side - Scottish, Irish & Cherokee many of my female cousins hair turns curly at puberty and I am one of them.
So who knows where the curls come from but isn't it great that we all have them?!
