No, I didn't notice that. I've seen many unmixed blacks with 3b hair, as well as many unmixed whites. I guess many mixed-race and/or Middle Eastern people have 3b hair, but how can anyone really be sure they represent the majority of people with type 3b hair? I don't see how that can be discerned without a census.

I'm black, pinoy and bunch of other stuff. And FYI curlies the Latino population is a MIXED race people. So if your rican your mixed!!

Not all Latins are of mixed-race stock, many of them are just black, white, Asian, or Native American.

All my grandparents are from Syria. I would say I observed the same thing - but most of the people I see regularly of the same extraction!

I wouldn't say all 3b girls are mixed.
However, I'm biracial and I've noticed most (if not all) of my biracial friends have 3b/c hair too.

I think the problem lies in the fact that saying "100% rican" doesn't give any specific information about a person's ethnicity. Being Puerto Rican, IMO, is about a culture and lifestyle, not ethnicity. There are black ricans, white ricans and probably everything in between.
As for the original question, I think that is too big of a generalization.

i'm egyptian with 3b hair........and a lot of fellow egyptians have 3b or 3c....but then there are those with straight or wavy hair...i understand what your saying though.....and as an arab i can see how easy it is to notice....

While my children are mixed, and three of them rock 3 types curls, the other is a 2 type with waves, there are several 3 type curlies on their Italian and Hispanic sides who are not mixed. In fact, my son's hair is exactly like his Italian cousin and both her parents are Italian. Also, My father has soft 3b hair, tho his gran is racially mixed, he's a dark skinned man who has always considered himself just Black.

But I haven't really noticed that. I actually think the mixed people have the most diverse curly hair. I have three close biracial friends. They are girls and 1 girl has like 2a hair..the other has 3b hair and the last one has 4b hair..and they all have White mothers and black fathers and we talk about it all the time it's so funny how their hair is all different. I'm Eritrean(Black)/Puerto Rican/White and I have 3b hair..with some gnarly 3a in the back and 3c at the crown lol...Curly hair just cracks me up lol!!
