Just from my experience looking at people's fotki's on this site generally a lot of different curl types exist in every race. I think sometimes people think one curl type can be the only one in a race, but that's really not true. Generally one is prevalent, but there are lots of different hair types as well? For myself, I am several different types of caucasian--Irish, Scottish, and British I believe--and I have looser curls that still have 3b tendencies.

I've always wondered about that. Doesn't that make you biracial also since your 50% of each race but not directly really 50% of each race. Do you get it? I tend to make sense in my head but not to other people. Do you consider yourself biracial?

Well I don't really believe that each ethnicity has certain types of characteristics (since we are all brothers and sisters of the world, in the eyes of God, so me you and that random guy over there are related somehow, distant or close, straight hair or curls.) We are all different. I consider myself mixed and I have 3a-3b hair and 3c curls at my nape, but as I said, I don't believe a certain trait has to belong to an ethnicity.

I've been asked by people whether I'm Jewish and I've heard that I have "Jew curls." That term cracks me up for some reason. I think it's more than just the curl pattern but also texture related.

Mostly my ancestry is western European stuff...Scotch, English, German, etc...but some family records from waaay back were found written in Hebrew and my grandmother likely has some Polish in her and her ancestors lived in an area where a lot of Polish Jews did. She has hair like mine and my dad inherited it from her Everyone else family wise is a straightie.

Probably a lot of mixed people and Arabs fall into this category but I doubt the category is made mostly of those people if you get what I'm saying.
