Nope, I'm white with nationalities of Polish and German. The curls are very genetic since we are all really curly or just slightly wavy. For example my grandma is really curly as I am and my mom is wavy like my sister. It did a weird generation skip. ahh...heredity.

Nope....well, not really. I'm black. Father is black and Mom is biracial (black and white). Never asked what the family origins are and it has never come up in conversation. Can't even say I'm curious!! My ex-husband is black (4c/b) and our son has 3b/3a hair. I'm sure it came from my mom's side. Guess her genes are strong!!

I am German Irish and have crazy curly (3b) hair. I am also the only one in my immediate family with curly hair. Now my brother claims that I was actually found in a cabbage patch waaaaaay back when so maybe that is why my hair is nuts. However, I believe that if my German father was allowed to let his coarse, wavy hair grow past his ears he might have actually been my hair twin.

I'm from Tunisia in North Africa, I like to identify myself as Mediterranean cause we don't fit in the African, Arabic, Islamic, or any other culture by itself, the key is in the mixture.
Also Jew is not a race it's a religious belief so of course their hair differs based on the person's origin. One of my classmates is Jewish and he is of white German origins (by the way, he had a head full of beautiful reddish/blondish curls then for some reason he got a haircut and it looks as if he has straight hair now .
We also have a Jewish Tunisian community and their hair is like all the other Tunisians' hair mostly curly, only a few have straight hair...

Well, that was an interesting theory, but even more interesting responses. What a diverse group we are! So what we've learned is that there might be something to the theory, since it appears none of us are a single ethnicity. We're all mixed, if mixed means <1 ethnicities, whether it's AA, eastern european, hispanic, jewish, western european, & I think I even saw asian here as well.
Oh, & I'm half jewish, half albanian. Curlies on both sides.

I'm mixed....black and white. I'm a 3b/3c mix. Almost every one of my siblings is mixed with something....not all of them have curly hair. Lets see:
Mexican/white brothers --> all of them had adorable baby curls...but their hair went straight after a year or 2
moroccan(arab)/white brother --> he has a little wave when its longer
Navajo/black brother --> Aparently his curls are a little looser than mine, so probably a 3A or 3b
white/Poly??/Black sister --> somewhere between me and the native brother. so probably a solid 3b
Most of the mixies I know that are part black have some sort of curl. but theres more types of mixes than that. Most of the hair fall somewhere in between their parents.

Scottish, Irish, Swedish, German, and Welsh. My grandma on the side with the Scottish, Irish and Welsh tracked our family tree back for forever, and on my moms side my Grandpa Tony is 100% German, and my Grandma Sharon is 100% Swedish. My curls aren't 3b, but if my mom let her hair grow long hers would be, and so would my dad's--he was rocking the curly mullet way back when , and my hair has gone from stick straight to 3a (i think), and its still getting curlier !!!!! And yeah, I see the celtic connection too.

I would disagree with your statement that "Jew is not a race." Many Jews (IME) marry Jews, because it's easier to marry someone in the same culture as you. Additionally, you know how there are some medical conditions that one race is more prone to/is exclusive to a race (sickle cell anemia comes to mind)? Ashkenazi Jews are more prone to Tay-Sachs Disease than other ethnicities. Also, there are foods, phrases, and a language that's known to be Jewish- similarly, there are aspects of Hispanic, African American or Native American races that are exclusive to their race, not their beliefs.

Jews and Arabs are ethnicities (although, in the case of Jews, they are also a religion.) There is no such thing as race--- race is a social construct. Ethnicity, or where you are from, is real, since we are all born somewhere. Race, however, is a label put onto us by other people, regardless of culture, religion, language or where we are from.

I am French-Canadian/English, I think I get my 3b's from my English heritage.. not sure as both sides of the family have curly hair, but from the colour and curl type I would determine that they're English
We certainly are diverse! x

We're mixed race in my family, as are a lot of Caribbean folk (due to the native Caribe islander "Indians"--Asiatic if one is to classify by race categories--the Africans brought over due to the heinous slave trade , and the Europeans who came over, so all three artificial racial constructs are represented).
We have all three--from "Indian", Afro-Cuban, and Spanish. Mom, whose dad was blue-eyed and very Spanish in looks and who herself was proud of the native Cuban Indian blood in her background, liked men of a certain look, as first husband and my dad (second husband) looked a lot alike (biracial men with dark hair, dark eyes, darkish skin, wiry frame). But none of us four kids have similar hair.
~~Eldest sis (first husband's only child with mom) has 3c/4a, coarse, dry, black, grows long easily, but is quite prone to kinking.
~~Older brother has Indian hair--straight, thick, black. Not a wave in sight. Never have seen it with frizz. Ever. Lays smooth. I wanted that hair so bad.
~~Middle sis: fine, soft, slightly wavy brown with natural highlights of red and blonde (she was a blond child). Ironically, she is always trying to get curls, while I, the ubercurly girl, was often trying to smooth mine out. I envied her hair growing up, as it doesn't frizz like mine.
~~Me: 3b, almost black, very dry, medium, prone to frizz, but easily styled, so relatively versatile. I can curl it or straighten it with ease. But the dryness got worse with age due to hypothyroidism, and it got curlier, too. Me, as a baby: curly; me as a kid, straightish hair that didn't hold a curl too long; twenties, wavy-curly; thirties on, really curly. Weird.
Mom had straight hair she was always perming. Dad had fine but plentiful curly-wavy hair, very soft, not dry.
It's so odd to me we have such different hair.
but as we're all multi-racial, I guess the gene pool causes diversity in features and hair (we do not look like each other, though we can see either mom's this or dad's that in each other).
I did grow up with a lot of Puerto Rican friends (they often had hair like me) and Irish kids (Catholic School), and lots of curlies among the Irish studients I went to school with, and ditto the priest and nuns. I think some interesting raiders visited ye Emerald shores....

I'm Jewish/Irish/Native American. Most people think of Native Americans has having STRAIGHT black hair, but my grandmother (100% Choctaw) has very curly hair, as do my mother and aunts.

I'm mixed as well. Indian/Welsh/with like 1 percent black
My father is indian and some welsh, and my mothers said is welsh with some irish(really ima mutt lol)
but mostly im indian and welsh. I agree with you on the indians having curly hair.
I foreone never thought of them having pin straight hair. I always just thought they had really straight roots with some curls going down.
That seems to be the case with my grandpa(indian)
even though he has short hair its curled at the end.
idk but before i relaxed my hair i figure it was a 3a/3b
