I agree that Jew is not a "race". Jewish is a religion, although there can be cultural features that develop out of religious practices that then form communities of people.
"Race" is a social construct used to organize people and resources. "Race" references phenotype (skin color, facial features, hair texture). People and resources are valued and organized according to notions of "race".
People of various "races" can be Jews. For example, I know "Black" Jews in Canada, and there have been media reports of "White" Jews in Israel discriminating against Ethiopian/"Black" Jews.

um...sort of I'm a Dutch and Polish 3b... though, my fathers Polish family is all Jewish...
Interesting observation, and yes, some ethnicities tend to have curlier hair, etc. BUT we're all mixed these days... I doubt there are many people left that 101% purely anything... I'm thinking the curly hair can pop up from anywhere in your ethnic background....

I'm of mostly Irish decent with just the tinest bit of English, German and Native American. I mean very tiny but I've often been asked if I am Jewish, Italian and even Arabic. I'm not sure I can see those in me but I guess it's possible.

We are all mixed because there has never been any such thing as a "pure" race. It's not just a condition of modernity, there have always been groups of people traveling and mixing up genes. Race is a social construct.
My ancestors left of Africa 50,000 years ago. They walked through the Middle East, and ended up in Western Europe by 30,000 years ago. I know this because my mom had her DNA analyzed through a program with National Geographic. In the 1600s they took a boat from France to America.
And I am 3b.

That is super cool, getting your DNA tested! I agree. We are all so mixed. My husband gets upset when someone asks me 'what nationality' I am! He gets peeved and tells the person asking, "she's American."

Speaking as a Jew (one that actually was born one and practices the religion).. JUDAISM is a religion. Being Jewish is belonging to an ETHNIC GROUP. More specifically in a traditional understanding and ethno-religious group. So with that ethnic group comes a history of a particular religion. A person can certain be a Jew though and not adhere to Judaism.
But it certainly is a fact that Jews can belong to ANY race. But it's not uncommon to hear the phrase.. "The Jewish race"..even among Jews.
There isn't one hair type that is inherent to Jews though dark curly hair used to be something associated with Jews as a typical trait until more European Jewry came to the forefront.

SO you are a Native American Indian?
What tribe?
American Indians are the true americans... Everyone else came over by exploration, lost on the spice trade route, by choice or by force..

Yeah, the DNA project is really interesting...I think it's called Genographic and anybody can go to their website and do it, if you want to pay $100! I'd like to do my dad's side too, but haven't forked out the dough.
My point with explaining my history for the past 50,000 years (haha) is to ask at what point did my ancestors stop being "black" and become "white"? I think this shows how the categories of race are not biologically definable, which isn't to say that race and ethnicity aren't culturally and socially important, which has had both good and bad consequences!

My great grandfather was Algonquian in Missouri. But he is the last of the native Americans in my family. So, that makes me what?....1/8th I think. Anyhow, I have so many 'ethnicities' in my background that I am proud to say I am American.

This statement I can agree with. Being not only white, but pasty white and 3B I can say the original statement struck me as odd.
