Well I find that to be untrue. I am neither mixed race or white, or black, or middle eastern. I am full hispanic (Puerto Rican and Cuban).

Well, I think in general, the races you mentioned are more likely to have curly hair in general.
But me, I'm white.

I'm 3c/4a and I'm mixed with european, middle eastern(bedouin), jewish, native american(chilean native, crow, and blackfoot), and Black. I can't say I've seen any of the groups that make my mix have 3b hair more then the others.

3b jewess up in here!! someone posted earlier that being a certain ethnicity perhaps increases your chances of being a curly but being a curly doesn't mean you have a specific racial/ethnic background. i think that's true. when i lived in israel, the proportion of curlies to non was gloriously high! this, of course, is purely observational and non-scientific.

This statement is pretty ignorant. There, I said it.
I've been fighting this notion on this site for years. Any ethnicity can have 3b hair. The responses to your notion prove that point.
And I'm AA (not mixed in this generation). My girls are not either and one has 3bc and the other 3c4a. Genetics are a crapshoot.

This 3b is Native American & Swedish! (I am the only one in my family line with the curls. All others have waves or board straight hair!)

Races are so mixed now
I think there is a grain of truth but due to the posts there are so many mixes out there you can be any race which is cool. Shows the world its harder to stereotype!

I have 3b in my undergrowth, and I'm German, Danish, and Norwegian. That's VERY white.

Not necessarily
I am Italian, I have red 3b hair. I have olive skin, but am not mixed; definitely white.
My father has 3b curls And most of my Italian family has 3a/b/c hair.

I have 3b/3c combination hair. I'm Jewish and Latina. My older daughter is Jewish/Latina, Slovenian, and some other European ethncities and is 3a/3b. My second daughter is all of the same ethnicities and is type 2a.

I've been following this thread for a while. I'm 3b and my ethnic heritage is Swedish-Italian-English-Scotch-Irish-French....I think that's it! My Mom who was Swedish/French, had curly hair like mine. But then again my Italian/everything else Dad has curly hair as well. So either way I was destined to be a curly girl! But my sister had straight as a board hair. Then again, we always told her she was the milkman's kid! Hee, hee! I'm enjoying reading about all the different backgrounds of us all. So interesting how we all come to be!

Both of my parents are Acadian French, neither of them have curly hair, but I have majorly thick hair filled with 3b curls.
I don't think that it's true that certain ethnic backgrounds make someone more prone to having 3b curls -- but I do think that a lot of people think so... I'm about as white as white can be, blonde hair, green eyes, and I still have people ask or just assume that I'm mixed. It doesn't bother me, but I think it's funny
