Default Bushy spots treatments

I have been natural all of my life but I straighten my hair regularly. I am trying to wear my hair curly, and I know it needs to be trained. However, I have these areas at the root of my hair which become very bushy and does not follow a certain curl pattern, almost like a big patch of bushy wiry hair. Are there any treatments or products that I can use to speed the training process or allow these bushy spots to regain a curl pattern?

My current regimine:

Shampoo: Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo
Conditioner (which I leave in): Organix Coconut Milk Conditioner
Styling Aids: Proclaim Styling Gel and Denman D3 Brush
